In Hogwarts Legacy, the Cursed Tomb Treasure quest presents players with a challenging task of deciphering a treasure map. This map not only reveals the whereabouts of a chest but also provides instructions for solving a specific puzzle.

When embarking on side quests, it's common for players to receive them from various magical beings such as Wizards, Witches, or Elves. In the case of the Cursed Tomb Treasure quest, players will come across the map concealed within a securely locked chest, underscoring the importance of acquiring the Alohomora spell to kickstart this side quest.

Updated August 26th, 2023: Hogwarts Legacy offers numerous hidden treasures waiting to be discovered. Some of these valuable finds are obtained through engaging sidequests or by following maps found throughout the various regions. One such treasure, the Cursed Tomb Treasure, proves to be highly rewarding if players can locate the activating quest and master the corresponding spell required to solve the puzzle. In order to assist players in successfully acquiring the Cursed Tomb Treasure in Hogwarts Legacy, we have provided an updated guide accompanied by a helpful video.

How To Trigger The Cursed Tomb Treasure Quest In Hogwarts Legacy

In order to activate the Cursed Tomb Treasure side quest, players must first complete the main quest, The Helm of Urtkot, and locate the treasure map. To find this valuable item, travel to the Manor Cape Region and use fast-travel to reach the Bainburgh Floo Flame. Once there, summon the Broom or any other available mount in Hogwarts Legacy and soar southwest towards the abandoned manor. Beware, as the entrance of the manor is infested with Inferi. Make sure to equip a fire spell for protection.

After dispatching all the adversaries, players are advised to ascend the grand staircase located on the western side and proceed in a counterclockwise direction. Engage in further battles against a multitude of Inferi and approach the southern gate. Subsequently, ascend the incline and make a right turn to discover a remarkable skeleton statue, which serves as a covert entrance. Utilize a fire spell in Hogwarts Legacy to ignite the brazier and access the hidden underground area.

Alisa Travers launches a surprise attack on players, followed by an ambush from the Lord of the Manor. Once both adversaries are vanquished, employ the spell Alohomora I to unlock the chest in the corner and obtain the map that initiates the Cursed Tomb Treasure quest.

Where To Find The Location On The Treasure Map

Upon examination of the map, an X is marked on a spot that appears to be nestled amidst two towering mountains and concealed beyond the veil of a cascading waterfall. The sole recorded site boasting these distinctive elements is the Tomb of Treachery situated in the Poidsear Coast Region. Proceed to the tomb's Floo Flame and venture into the cavern.

Upon reaching the Tomb of Treachery, advance in the northern direction until reaching a tomb that is brimming with bones. Utilize a fire spell to incinerate the webs obstructing the path in the northern tunnel and proceed to conquer a pair of spiders. In order to progress deeper into the tomb, it is necessary to acquire three Moths to unlock the sealed door.

How To Unlock The Moths Door

The first and second Moths are inside the room on the right side:

The first one can be seen immediately.

The second one is guarded by some webs that are removed using a fire spell.

Guide both Moths in Hogwarts Legacy using Lumos to the door.

The third and final Moth is inside the room to the left where a small box can be seen behind some webs. To collect the Moth:

Get rid of the webs blocking the box.

Use Accio to pull the box underneath the high platform.

Cast Levioso to levitate it.

Climb the box to reach the platform.

Use Lumos on the Moth and guide it back to the door.

Now that the Moth door is finally unlocked in Hogwarts Legacy, the final room is filled with Inferi. Defeat the enemies to solve the final puzzle inside the tomb.

How To Solve The Tomb Of Treachery Puzzle

There are a total of eight tiles on the floor that match the drawing on the map. In order to solve the puzzle, players need to use Flipendo to flip three tiles to match the image on the treasure map. Once this is done, the square in the middle will elevate and reveal a treasure chest. Inside the chest, players will find the Treasure-Seeker's Attire Appearance and 400 Galleons.

Hogwarts Legacy can now be played on PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC. Versions for PS4, Xbox One, and Switch are currently being developed.
