Explaining what happened to Mirko in My Hero Academia

My Hero Academia: Mirko's Post-War Journey Unveiled

Mirko made his debut in My Hero Academia during the High-End Nomu arc, at a meeting where Endeavor was officially declared the number 1 hero following All Might's retirement.

Her captivating design and vivacious attitude quickly attracted fans, and her role as a skilled and determined fighter was solidified during the first War arc. However, as a secondary character, she can sometimes feel overlooked, and readers may lose track of her storyline. In the first War arc, she sacrificed one of her arms to prevent Tomura Shigaraki from awakening in Dr. Garaki's lab. Although the villain did wake up, Mirko's actions prevented Shigaraki from unleashing his full power.

She eventually received a prosthetic arm and joined Mirio, Bakugo, and Best Jeanist in the final War arc to fight Shigaraki, allowing Deku to make his appearance. Despite putting up a strong fight, Mirko had both arms and one leg severed by Tomura, forcing her to withdraw from the battlefield for the rest of the arc.

As of this writing, there is no confirmation of whether she is alive or not.

The ups and downs of My Hero Academia's final arc

My Hero Academia's final arc has sparked a lot of debate, especially with Mirko's fate. It seems that some fans believe the series has been on a decline in recent years, with praise for Kohei Horikoshi's artwork but criticism for the storytelling.

The dissatisfaction among many fans stems from the unsatisfying conclusions for numerous main antagonists and some protagonists. Dabi's survival and the inadequate resolution with the Todoroki family, as well as Ochako Uraraka's confrontation with Himiko Toga, have left several fans disappointed. Additionally, the criticism of the lack of casualties in a supposed war, and the unrealistic fake deaths of All Might and Katsuki Bakugo, have also been major points of contention.

Final thoughts

Mirko, a character in My Hero Academia, participated in the last two War arcs and suffered the loss of two arms and one of her legs, rendering her unable to fight for the rest of the series. However, her current status in the series has not been confirmed yet.

Editor's P/S

As a Gen Z fan of My Hero Academia, I am deeply invested in the characters and their journeys. Mirko, in particular, has captured my attention with her fierce determination and impressive fighting skills. Her sacrifice in the first War arc, where she lost an arm to prevent Tomura Shigaraki from awakening, showcased her unwavering commitment to protecting others. Despite her injuries, she continued to fight alongside her fellow heroes in the final War arc, displaying her indomitable spirit.

However, I share the concerns of many fans regarding the recent developments in the series. The lack of satisfying conclusions for several main antagonists and protagonists has left me feeling disappointed. The survival of Dabi and the underwhelming resolution with the Todoroki family, as well as Ochako Uraraka's confrontation with Himiko Toga, have fallen short of my expectations. Additionally, the absence of significant casualties in a war scenario and the unrealistic fake deaths of All Might and Katsuki Bakugo have further contributed to my dissatisfaction.
