Chapter 408 recap
Bakugo is seemingly unbothered by All For One's final move in My Hero Academia chapter 408 (Image via Studio Bones)
In My Hero Academia chapter 408, the focus shifted to All For One and Kudo following the death of Yoichi Shigaraki at the hands of All For One. All For One discovered that the Quirk he had given his brother disappeared, while Kudo inherited a second Quirk factor from Yoichi. The postmortem words of Yoichi were then shared with both All For One and Kudo through his One For All vestige.
All For One remembered his battles with each of the One For All users, including All Might, and lamented how Yoichi's Quirk always seemed to evade him. This led to a return to the present, where All For One questioned if Bakugo could be descended from Kudo. After realizing that this was impossible, he noticed that Bakugo's eyes now resembled Kudo's when he began opposing him.
All For One carefully considered his options, recognizing that he needed to conserve his strength in order to defeat Tomura Shigaraki during the transfer. Ultimately, he abandoned this strategy and decided to risk all of his remaining energy on the Omni-Factor Unleash: All For One Goal technique, which enabled him to grotesquely activate all of his Quirks at once. The chapter concluded with Bakugo laughing, appearing unfazed by All For One's risky move.
What to expect (speculative)
With All For One preparing for what appears to be his final move, My Hero Academia chapter 409 is expected to wrap up his fight against Bakugo, and possibly his role in the story. All For One himself acknowledged that this could be his last move before Rewind kills him, making it highly likely that his departure from the story is imminent.
In addition, My Hero Academia chapter 409 is likely to shift its focus to Izuku Midoriya and Tomura Shigaraki in its final moments, setting the stage for the next few issues. As Midoriya also seems to be gearing up for one final gamble, the series appears to be rapidly heading towards its anticipated conclusion.
