On Bungie Day, July 7th, Destiny 2 developer Bungie always goes all out, incorporating the number 7 into their games and store offerings. They released the Destiny 2's 30th Anniversary Pack on December 7th, and Bungie Day has traditionally been a way for them to celebrate their community and games, often raising funds for causes supported by the Bungie Foundation. It's no surprise that Bungie is now presenting new Destiny 2-themed merchandise created by Numskull Designs, a company that has previously produced collectibles for the game.
While some fans can never have enough collectibles, this year's offerings are fulfilling the wishes of Destiny 2 players. Numskull Designs is introducing two new plushies and replicas of in-game items and characters. Notably, Numskull Designs also created the highly sought-after limited edition Savathun statue and the beloved Fallen Baby Destiny 2 plush, which has become a fan-favorite akin to Baby Yoda from The Mandalorian. It only makes sense for Numskull Designs to debut new collectibles on Bungie Day, and it is anticipated that two specific entries will become highly popular among fans.
Destiny 2's New Numskull Designs Merch Expands an Already Great Collection
The first item that stands out is the Generalist Ghost Shell plush, which holds significant sentimental value as it is one of the original shells given to the Guardian's Ghost in Destiny 2. Its nostalgic appeal is expected to generate excitement among fans. Following that, we have another plush featuring a hatchling Screeb, a formidable enemy in Destiny 2. Screebs are notorious for their explosive nature and pose a great threat to Guardians. Since their introduction with the Forsaken expansion, the community has both revered and feared them, often turning them into memes for unusual in-game deaths.
Considering the success of the Fallen Baby plush by Numskull Designs, it is highly likely that a baby Screeb plush would also garner significant attention. Players of Destiny 2 may express their enthusiasm by expressing their need to protect this critter at all costs. Moving on to the first non-plush collectible in Numskull Designs' new set, we have the Fynch figure. This vinyl replica, standing at an impressive height of 7.2 inches, allows fans to display their fondness for the Lucent Hive, much like the previous Savathun statue which stood tall at 11 inches.
Lastly, we have Numskull Designs' new Chalice of Opulence replica, a real-life rendition of an in-game object that pays homage to the Cabal emperor Calus. In Destiny 2's Lightfall campaign, Calus serves as the final boss, but his chalice has been a fixture since the original Leviathan Raid. Players would shoot the chalice to initiate the encounter with the massive Cabal. Similar to the Screeb hatchling plush, this official replica, standing at 6.7 inches, will undoubtedly be highly sought after by avid Destiny 2 fans looking to expand their collections due to its in-game significance.
While Bungie Day encompasses more than just product releases by the studio, it presents a fantastic opportunity for Destiny 2 players to acquire unique memorabilia. It comes as no surprise that Numskull Designs has remained a favorite amongst fans, thanks to the exceptional quality of their creations. All the products mentioned will be readily available for purchase on Numskull Designs' website and the official Bungie Store. With its two plushies and two collectibles, this new release is sure to bring joy to many fans.
Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
