Morena Baccarin, an original star of Deadpool, has hinted at a significant Deadpool 3 fan theory following her confirmation of involvement in the film. Despite premiering over seven years ago, Deadpool continues to captivate fans, with much anticipation for the upcoming third installment.
Regarded as one of Ryan Reynolds’ finest works, the Deadpool series centers around the wise-cracking assassin and his comical cohorts, some of whom are members of the X-Men.
Unsurprisingly, fans eagerly anticipate Deadpool 3 and eagerly devour any tidbits from the production, including the exclusive news of a key cast member's return and speculation that she may closely resemble her comic book counterpart.

Baccarin gives Deadpool fans hope of seeing Copycat
Baccarin has confirmed in an exclusive interview with ComicBookMovie.com that she will be returning to play the role of Vanessa Carlysle. In Deadpool 2, Vanessa was shot and killed, but a post-credits scene showed Deadpool using Cable’s time-traveling device to save her.
In April, Baccarin suggested that she might make a comeback to the franchise, but she had not yet reached an agreement with the production team. She mentioned that it was uncertain whether or not she would appear on screen again.
However, it seems that things have worked out as Baccarin informed CBM, "I have already completed my filming days. I believe the film has resumed production after the strike, and I have a feeling it's going to be great! Fans can expect a pleasant surprise."
CBM inquired the actress about Vanessa's readiness to don her iconic blue skin for the third film. She replied, "Yes, I think so! But she's also up against a vast universe."
In the comics, Vanessa is a shape-shifting mutant known as Copycat. Initially, fans were unaware that she had appeared in the pages, as she had used her abilities to disguise herself as Domino.
She was originally designed with light blue skin, red eyes, and white hair, as well as the ability to transform into anyone on a genetic level.
Both comic and live-action Vanessas are deeply in love with Deadpool and are pushed aside when he is diagnosed with cancer. However, in the comics, Vanessa often finds herself in conflict with Deadpool and the X-Men, whereas in the live-action adaptation, she remains supportive of Deadpool throughout.
With rumors circulating about Deadpool 3 serving as the opening for the franchise to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the ongoing merging of universes with the X-Men, the possibility of Baccarin portraying Copycat on the big screen is becoming more likely.

As a hard fan of the Deadpool series, I am thrilled to hear that Morena Baccarin will be returning for Deadpool 3. Her portrayal of Vanessa Carlysle in the first two films was fantastic, and I can't wait to see what she brings to the table in the third installment. The possibility of her character Copycat appearing in the film is also very exciting. In the comics, Copycat is a complex and fascinating character, and I think Baccarin would do an amazing job of bringing her to life on the big screen.
I'm also intrigued by the rumors that Deadpool 3 will serve as the opening for the franchise to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This would be a huge development, and I can't wait to see how it all plays out. The merging of the Deadpool universe with the MCU has the potential to create some truly epic storylines, and I'm excited to see what the future holds for these characters. Overall, I'm very optimistic about Deadpool 3 and can't wait to see it when it hits theaters in 2024.
