As a long-time fan of the Call of Duty franchise, I am deeply disappointed by the recent review bombing of the 2011 edition of Modern Warfare 3. It is unfair and misguided for fans to target the older game, which is widely considered to be one of the best in the series, simply because they are unhappy with the recently released 2023 version.
The 2011 Modern Warfare 3 was a groundbreaking game that offered a thrilling campaign, innovative multiplayer, and a wealth of content. It was a complete and satisfying experience that did not rely on microtransactions or recycled content. In contrast, the 2023 Modern Warfare 3 has been criticized for its short campaign, repetitive gameplay, and lack of fresh ideas. While these criticisms are certainly valid, it is unfair to take them out on the 2011 game, which is a completely different title.
I urge fans to be more discerning in their criticism and to direct their feedback to the appropriate game. Review bombing the 2011 Modern Warfare 3 does nothing to address the issues with the 2023 game and only serves to tarnish the reputation of a classic title.
