Miranda Cosgrove had a fun encounter with a young iCarly fan while she was out running errands. She shared the amusing story during an appearance on Live With Kelly and Mark.

While browsing through the toy aisle at Target, Cosgrove noticed a little boy, around 7 years old, staring at her. She thought to herself that he must be a fan of the show. However, instead of expressing his love for iCarly, the boy surprised her by saying, "You got old!" Cosgrove couldn't help but laugh at the unexpected comment.

Cosgrove laughed at the child's honest reaction and commented that "kids always tell the truth." Kelly Ripa, the host, disagreed with the child's observation. She said, "I have been interviewing you for years on this show, and you look exactly the same."

The actress thanked Ripa and mentioned that she saw a resemblance between them.

Cosgrove revealed that she still occasionally gets recognized for her role on the Nickelodeon show she starred in from 2007 to 2012. Recognition dwindled after iCarly ended its fifth season, but when the series was added to Netflix years later, a new audience started tuning in.

"It was funny because for a while, many young kids didn't recognize me since [iCarly] hadn't been on TV. But then, Netflix added the show and began streaming the old seasons."

Miranda Cosgrove, along with Jerry Trainor and Nathan Kress, returned to the screen in 2021 as the beloved characters from the children's show iCarly. The show made a comeback on Paramount+ after Netflix started streaming old episodes. In the reboot, Cosgrove reprised her role as Carly Shay, Trainor as Spencer Shay, and Kress as Freddie Benson. The revival also introduced new characters portrayed by Laci Mosley and Jaidyn Triplett. The storyline picked up nine years after the original series finale, with Carly back in Seattle.

Cosgrove explained to Variety that the decision to return to the show was inspired by the fans who originally loved it. She felt that the new show should be made for them, giving the team direction and making the process more enjoyable.

The new version of iCarly aired for three seasons before being canceled in October 2023. The series concluded on a cliffhanger, leaving fans eager to finally meet Carly's mother at her wedding to Freddie.

Unfortunately, iCarly will not be coming back for a fourth season on Paramount+. The show had an amazing three-season journey and gave fans what they were hoping for with Carly and Freddie ending up together. A spokesperson from Paramount+ shared in a statement, "We are grateful for the hard work and creativity of the cast, writers, directors, producers, and crew. Thank you for your dedication and talent."

Miranda Cosgrove's encounter with a young fan is a testament to the enduring legacy of "iCarly." Despite the show ending over a decade ago, it continues to resonate with new generations of viewers, thanks in part to its availability on streaming services. Cosgrove's interaction with the child also highlights the honesty and perception of children, who often view the world without the filters of politeness or social conventions.

The reboot of "iCarly" in 2021 was a welcome return for fans who had grown up with the original series. The show successfully captured the essence of the original while also introducing new characters and storylines.
