Russell and Kailey Dickerson have joyfully welcomed their second child, Radford Arthur Dickerson. Born on October 1st, little Rad made his grand entrance into the world just 17 hours after Russell's show in Kansas City. Both aged 33, Russell and Kailey shared the exciting news through a joint Instagram post on October 7th. "Even though Dad had to be dropped off at the hospital by the tour bus, we made it! Lil Rad is an absolute dream baby, and our older son, Rem, is overjoyed to be a loving big brother!"
Radford, who arrived 10 days ahead of schedule, entered the world weighing a healthy 8 pounds, 14 ounces, and measuring 20.5 inches, as shared by the couple. Numerous country music colleagues of Russell extended their heartfelt congratulations to the couple's newly expanded family.
"He is absolutely flawless. He is already incredibly amazing!️," expressed Lauren Alaina.
While Russell had been captivating audiences all over the country with his exhilarating Big Wheels & Back Roads Tour, Kailey and Remington were unable to attend every show due to conflicting schedules and Kailey's pregnancy.
“I typically use FaceTime to connect with my wife, Kailey, and my son, Remington, in case they aren't accompanying me on my travels during that particular weekend,” Russell exclusively shared with We last month, discussing his pre-show rituals. “Performing live shows is undeniably one of the most enjoyable aspects of my profession; there's truly nothing comparable to it. I genuinely relish the electrifying atmosphere in the venue every night, and meeting the RD Fam in person is always an immensely meaningful experience.”
Russell Dickerson's love for music is undeniable, but his true happiness lies in coming home to his beloved wife Kailey and their children. Having tied the knot in 2013, the couple joyfully revealed in April that they were eagerly anticipating the arrival of their precious rainbow baby.
"Feeling immensely grateful as we announce that Remington will be a proud big brother this autumn! Russell and Kailey shared their joy through a heartfelt caption on Instagram along with a photo of a positive pregnancy test. It's been less than a year since Kailey experienced a deeply saddening pregnancy loss in September 2022."
"It felt like struggling for breath, desperately swimming towards the sun-drenched surface. Unsure if I would ever confide in others, I felt compelled to leave this news behind as we entered the new year," Kailey shared on her Instagram in December 2022, two months after the incident. "The painful loss, however, will forever be woven into the fabric of our lives. I will eventually share more when the time is right, but for now, and over these past few months, I have held these two dear to my heart."
Russell and Kailey's paths crossed during their time as college students at Belmont University, and they have since become each other's unwavering support system.
"My wife has been by my side since the early days of SUVs. She not only filmed the music video for 'Yours,' but also captured the perfect shots for the album cover of the Yours EP and full-length album. She has tirelessly driven countless miles, organized merchandise, taken memorable meet and greet photos, and much more," revealed the singer of "God Gave Me a Girl" in October 2017. "Her continuous dedication and support have undoubtedly served as inspiration for writing this record."
Fast forward three years, in September 2020, they joyfully welcomed their firstborn, Remington.
