Highlights

Hogwarts Legacy players have uncovered secrets, including a mirror effect in the game's intro, which a fan has shown off in a Reddit clip.

Using the Universal Unreal Engine Unlocker, the fan successfully maneuvered the camera through the enchanted stone wall, exposing the hidden room beyond the mirror.

Compared to the previous iteration, Hogwarts Legacy implements enhanced visuals that make the mirror effect less conspicuous. This exciting revelation has the potential to unveil additional mysteries within the game.

A player of Hogwarts Legacy has recently demonstrated how the developers were able to create the mirror effect in the game's opening. Since its release in February, numerous players have been uncovering interesting details about Avalanche Software's open-world game, and this particular fan was fixated on the initial moments.

Even though it has been several months since its release, there are still undisclosed secrets waiting to be discovered in Hogwarts Legacy. Some of the hidden gems that players have stumbled upon include a memorial for Robbie Coltraine, a unique interaction with a snowman, and a peculiar glitch involving a frog. In one of the early scenes of the game, the player encounters an enchanted stone wall that reflects their image before they pass through it. While most players have witnessed this sequence, this particular fan may be the first to showcase the behind-the-scenes process of achieving this effect.

On Reddit, a user named RebirthAltair recently shared a video clip showcasing their use of the Universal Unreal Engine Unlocker to move the camera in the game Hogwarts Legacy. In the clip, the protagonist of the game is seen standing next to Professor Fig in front of an enchanted stone that displays the image of Gringotts Bank. By pausing the scene, RebirthAltair is able to maneuver the camera inside the stone, revealing a detailed rendering of the room within. Inside the room, both Professor Fig and the player character are positioned between a stone wall and a reflective surface, creating an illusionary effect. From the player's perspective, only the backside of the characters can be seen in the reflection, ensuring that their front-facing appearance is accurately portrayed during the tutorial.

Although the portkey symbol of Hogwarts Legacy is visible on the front of the mirror, it disappears when viewed from the back. Ordinarily, interacting with this symbol on the mirror would transport the player to the depicted room, which in this case is Gringotts Bank for the remainder of the tutorial. However, instead of being teleported to a different location on the map, the Gringotts room is already loaded and accessible upon interacting with the mirror. While similar mirror effects have been employed in previous games, the enhanced visuals in Hogwarts Legacy make the illusion less obvious.

Developers of Hogwarts Legacy and the Harry Potter universe probably employed various techniques to create the enchanting experience. With numerous captivating cutscenes like the Hogwarts Legacy mirror scene, RebirthAltair may utilize this method to unveil additional hidden details. Hogwarts Legacy can be played on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, and the Nintendo Switch version is set to launch on November 14th.
