9 X-5 Defected From The TVA While Hunting For Sylvie
In Loki season 2, episode 1, the X-5 character portrays a relentless and unemotional hunter who clashes with Loki and Mobius. However, in the opening scene of "Breaking Brad," a completely different side of X-5 is revealed. While searching for Sylvie, X-5's TemPad unexpectedly lost signal. Eventually, Loki and Mobius discover him in 1977 London, where he has transformed into the charming and outgoing movie star, Brad Wolfe. Initially, it is unclear whether this is the authentic X-5 from the TVA or a variant, but the truth quickly becomes apparent.
During his quest for Sylvie, X-5/Brad Wolfe chose to defect from the TVA and embrace his original life within the Sacred Timeline before being apprehended by the TVA. He is now relishing his existence as a tremendously popular movie star and promptly flees from Loki and Mobius when they appear at what appears to be the premiere of his latest film, Zaniac. It remains uncertain whether his return to the timeline leads to a new branch or if reality adapts to this change, similar to the way it did when Loki time-traveled in the season premiere.
8 Loki Shows Off How His Magic Has Grown
7 X-5 Has An Altered Tempad That Does… Something
: In the premiere of Loki season 2, the God of Mischief, Loki, demonstrated not only his skill as a magician but also two new impressive abilities. While chasing down Brad Wolfe alongside Mobius, Loki showcased his classic green blasts. However, his powers have evolved beyond that. He seamlessly employed his renowned illusions, which remain as convincing as ever. Moreover, he took his skills a step further by animating the shadows of his illusions to interact with the real world, effectively immobilizing Brad against a wall.In his attempt to evade Loki's pursuit, Brad employs his TemPad to instantly transport himself from a hopeless predicament to an alternative location. Upon his eventual return to the TVA, both Loki and Mobius discern that the device has undergone modifications. Brad asserts that these alterations enable him to elude detection by the TVA, yet it becomes evident that obstructing their tracking is not its true underlying intention.
Loki and Mobius first utilize the TemPad to reach OB, who is preoccupied and unable to investigate it. Determined to unravel its mysteries, the duo resorts to consulting the TVA guidebook, but their progress remains stymied. However, Casey comes to their aid, offering assistance. Although he acknowledges that the modifications do not impede tracking, he has yet to discern the unique capabilities of the TemPad.
6 Renslayer Is On The Run With Miss Minutes
Ravonna Renslayer bid farewell to the TVA in the final episode of Loki season 1 with the intention of seeking "free will." The exact implications of this decision have yet to be unveiled, but she is currently evading capture while the TVA continues to pursue her. Despite her expunging of TemPad data, it is discovered that Miss Minutes sent her the most recent message. It seems that this "rogue AI" is providing assistance to Renslayer in her enigmatic endeavors.
5 Loki & Mobius Interrogate Brad And Finds Out Where Sylvie Is
In a TVA cell, Mobius and Loki question Brad in order to obtain information on Sylvie's whereabouts, as they believe he is aware of her location. Initially, Brad presents a resilient demeanor and, interestingly, employs Loki's perspective from season 1 against him. Brad argues that Loki was correct and asserts that the workers of the TVA deserve to discover their true identities and live the lives they were destined for. Eventually, in order to protect the stability of the multiverse, Loki embraces his villainous reputation and coerces Brad by threatening his life, demanding an explanation regarding Sylvie's whereabouts. In the end, Brad relents and reveals the information.
4 Loki And Sylvie’s Reunion Doesn’t Go Well
Guided by Brad, Loki and Mobius arrive at Broxton, Oklahoma, where Sylvie, who had been seen last in the season 2 premiere, has found employment at McDonald's. The reunion is charged with tension due to their previous encounter, during which Sylvie felt betrayed by Loki's stance on He Who Remains' plan. She had retaliated by sending Loki through a Time Door and ultimately killing the Kang Variant. Sylvie desires nothing more than solitude, but Brad's startling revelation manages to persuade her, albeit temporarily, to return to the TVA.
3 O.B. Finds A New Problem With The Temporal Loom
The attention in Loki season 2, episode 1, was directed towards the imminent collapse of the Temporal Loom. Although it becomes less significant in the second episode, O.B. makes a discovery that could have disastrous consequences. The closure of the blast doors poses a problem as O.B. needs them open to stabilize the Temporal Loom. Unfortunately, only He Who Remains, the architect of the area, has the authority to open them, but he is deceased. This leads O.B. to fear that "We're all going to die!" Perhaps this predicament will spur Loki and Mobius to search for Kang variant Victor Timely, who has yet to make an appearance on-screen.
2 General Dox’s Rogue Plan Is Revealed
Hunter X-5, also known as Brad Wolfe, finally shares his knowledge with Loki, Mobius, and Sylvie. While the TVA publicly declares that all timeline pruning will cease due to the revelations regarding the organization's history and purpose, not everyone is willing to comply with this directive. General Dox has assembled a large team of devoted TVA Hunters to locate new timeline branches and obliterate them. Despite Loki and his companions intervening, they are unable to prevent the destruction before 30% of all timelines are annihilated, resulting in the deaths of billions. Appalled by the devastation, Sylvie immediately departs from the TVA to an undisclosed location.
1 The TVA Gets A Lead On Renslayer
In Loki season 2, episode 1, Casey receives a message on Renslayer's TempPad towards the end. However, there is limited information about her location, and it appears that the next episode will delve into her whereabouts since season 1. The previous episode revealed her connection to He Who Remains, suggesting that she may have ulterior motives, although it's also possible that her memories have been erased like the rest of the TVA. These uncertainties, as well as other inquiries, will hopefully be resolved in next week's episode of Loki season 2, episode 3.
