Millie Bobby Brown Reveals Surprising Truth About Her Relationship Status Before Meeting Fiance Jake Bongiovi

Millie Bobby Brown was unaware that marriage was something she wanted until she met her fiancé, Jake Bongiovi. In her Glamour cover story, published on Monday, October 16, the 19-year-old actress revealed, "I always dreamed of becoming a mother and being the kind of woman that my mom and grandmother were to me. Becoming a wife was never my intention."

However, meeting Jake Bongiovi, 21, completely transformed the perspective of the Stranger Things star.

Realizing that she didn't have to conform to the stereotypical role of a wife for him, and learning that he didn't expect it either, changed everything for Brown. She discovered that he encouraged her to pursue her own goals, live her own life, and would support her every step of the way.

This revelation made Brown realize that she truly desired this kind of relationship.

Brown and Bongiovi crossed paths during what she described as an intriguing period. Speculations about their romantic involvement began circulating in June 2021, and they solidified their relationship by sharing an affectionate photo in November of that same year. Their engagement was revealed in April. Despite the public scrutiny surrounding their decision to get engaged at a young age, Brown appears indifferent to the criticism.

She explained that we had been fortunate enough to witness and experience incredible, affectionate relationships, which fueled our desire for a similar connection. Additionally, her close relationship with her fiancé’s family, who have embraced her wholeheartedly, has been a significant factor. (It is worth noting that Bongiovi's father is Jon Bon Jovi.)

As for why she loves Bongiovi? “He’s so kind,” Brown gushed over her fiancé. “And his heart is just loving and wonderful and smart.”

Prior to meeting her future husband, Brown expressed her deep dissatisfaction with herself and the choices she had made, specifically referencing a previous relationship. In July 2021, prior to publicly announcing her relationship with Bongiovi, TikTok star Hunter Ecimovic made explicit allegations about Brown.

"I fell victim to deception and exploitation," he stated, partially, at that moment. "She exerted her influence over me, and I was manipulated."

He has subsequently expressed remorse for his remarks. Brown, while speaking to Allure in August 2022, contemplated on the incident, describing how it made her feel "extremely vulnerable." Additionally, she expressed, "I had a profound sense of being helpless and lacking authority."

Meeting Bongiovi transformed Brown's perspective on relationships as she had found love through Instagram. Brown confessed to Glamour that she used to be apprehensive about being a strong woman in a relationship, but all that changed when she met Jake. He not only accepted and celebrated her loud personality, but also encouraged it. It was with him that she learned to love herself.

During a certain phase in their relationship, Brown inquired Bongiovi about the reasons behind his love for her. She recollected, "He mentioned all these aspects that I despised about myself."

"Nowadays, those are aspects that I cherish about myself," Brown remarked. "He played a significant role in inspiring self-love and helping me transition into womanhood. I genuinely adore this person because he empowers me to love myself."
