Millie Bobby Brown's rise to fame can be attributed to her role in Stranger Things. However, she is not keen on being a part of the show indefinitely. In her recent Glamour cover story, the 19-year-old actress expressed her eagerness to take on the challenge of the final season and move on from the show.
In regards to other projects, the actress desires the freedom to not be hindered by obligations to the popular Netflix series. "Stranger Things demands a significant amount of time for filming and it hinders me from developing narratives that truly ignite my passion. Thus, I am prepared to express my gratitude and bid farewell," she elaborated.
Brown further emphasized her lack of concern in saying goodbye to her costars by stating, "Once it concludes, I will still have the opportunity to maintain connections with these individuals."
Netflix's Stranger Things, which first aired in 2016, captivated audiences with its portrayal of the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana. This supernatural series delves into a multitude of mysterious and chaotic events. Following its remarkable success, the talented cast of Stranger Things, including Brown, Wolfhard, Schnapp, Matarazzo, McLaughlin, Dyer, Heaton, and Keery, quickly gained widespread recognition and fame.
Matt and Ross Duffer, the creators of the show, initially announced in February 2022 that the series would conclude after season 5. The cast has since expressed their thoughts on bidding farewell to the show, as well as their aspirations for what lies ahead after the filming of season 5.
However, production for the final season was previously halted due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. In May, numerous TV and film productions in Hollywood were suspended as writers fought for fair compensation following unsuccessful negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP). Two months later, the actors' union also initiated a strike.
In September, an agreement was reached between the WGA and AMPTP. Following this, writers who were part of different productions returned to work later that month. However, the filming of any new projects is currently on hold until SAG-AFTRA and AMPTP reach a new contract. Although negotiations began earlier this month, they have unfortunately since come to a halt.
Brown reflected on the difficulties she encountered as a child star during her interview with Glamour. One of these challenges was facing criticism regarding her interview skills.

In regards to the accusation of "trying to steal the thunder" of her cast mates during the promotion of the series, she expressed that as kids, they naturally talk over each other. Yet, she was penalized for overtalking, oversharing, and being too loud.
Brown noted that as a 13-year-old, it was difficult for her to hear adults referring to her as "an idiot" and "a brat." This led her to feel like she didn't want to speak anymore and be seen as a loud person. During interviews, she constantly thought about the negative comments but chose to stay quiet and only speak when spoken to. She felt that it wasn't her turn to join in the conversation, even though she had a strong desire to do so.
Brown has truly blossomed, thanks in large part to her fiancé, Jake Bongiovi. Their relationship has allowed her to embrace her true self and discover self-love. Brown expressed her gratitude for Jake's support and encouragement, which played a significant role in her personal growth and transformation. She realized that her love for him stemmed from his ability to empower her to love herself.
