The engagement of the couple was announced in April 2023. Brown, who is 20 years old, shared the sweet story of Bongiovi, 22, proposing to her on "The Tonight Show" with Jimmy Fallon in March.

Jake and I really connected through our shared love for diving. We both enjoy diving and even got our diving licenses together. The "Stranger Things" star shared that his proposal to me actually happened underwater.

He handed me a shell underwater, and when I turned it over, I saw a ring inside. I looked at him in surprise, and he was communicating with me underwater," Brown explained, mimicking Bongiovi's gestures.

“So I was like okay,’” Brown said making the okay gesture. “And I think it was underwhelming, but we freaked out.”

Brown shared, "Anyway, he puts the ring on my hand and as I go to show him, the ring falls off my finger. It fell so fast, like a scene from a movie."

Bongiovi then dove deep to retrieve the ring.

Jake was so enthusiastic about diving that he threw himself into it without hesitation. The diver warned him about the dangers of going too deep, mentioning the risk of his ears and even his brain exploding.

I believe that finding the right partner and growing together is key. All of my kids have found someone they can grow with, and we really like them all.
