Mia Goth is facing a lawsuit for reportedly intentionally kicking a background actor in the head on the set of MaXXXine.
The lawsuit was filed by actor James Hunter on Friday, January 12, alleging that he sustained a concussion during filming of the A24 movie in April 2023.
Hunter was hired to play the character of "Dead Parishioner" in Ti West's horror film. Goth, who played the leading lady Maxine, was instructed to step over his body while he was lying on the ground. However, Hunter claims that the actress intentionally kicked him in the head with the side of her boot despite being warned to be careful. This caused him to immediately experience a headache and stiffness in his neck. Despite this, no medical assistance was offered and filming continued as directed by West. After a few takes, the scene was completed.
Hunter claimed that Goth's kick was intended to deliberately "punish" him for informing a crew member that she had been running "dangerously close" to him in a previous take.

Following the incident, Hunter stated that Goth had violated his privacy in the restroom in order to ridicule, taunt, and degrade him. According to the legal document, Goth supposedly challenged Hunter to take action regarding the kick. Goth has not responded to any of Hunter's allegations, despite our attempts to obtain a comment.
Furthermore, Hunter claimed that he was dismissed from the production the following day without explanation and was subsequently prohibited from coming back to the set. He also reported ongoing symptoms of head trauma, such as memory loss, confusion, and disorientation.
Hunter is taking legal action against Goth for battery and is seeking a minimum of $500,000 in compensation. He alleges that her "outrageous" behavior was intended to cause harm and severe emotional suffering.
According to the documents, "Goth engaged in harmful, offensive, and violent physical contact with [Hunter]." As a result of Goth's head kick, the plaintiff suffered injuries that led to medical expenses, a concussion, and ongoing harm, some of which may be permanent.
