Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol 1 Unveils Exciting Surprise for PC Gamers

Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol 1 disappoints PC gamers as a crucial feature is missing, as confirmed by its recent Steam listing

The recently announced Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 has confirmed a major drawback for PC players - the absence of mouse and keyboard controls. Konami officially announced the collection, which includes the original trilogy and a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3, during Sony's May PlayStation Showcase event. However, as fans are discovering more about the collection, it has been revealed that the PC version will lack this significant feature.

In addition to the May announcement, the collection's arrival on the Nintendo Switch was revealed during the June Nintendo Direct. Bonus features for the collection were also announced, including the inclusion of the franchise's original MSX and NES titles from the late 1980s and early 1990s. The collection will also feature digital artbooks and graphic novels from the franchise. However, it has been reported that the PC version of the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection will be missing an important gameplay feature.

The official Steam listing for the compilation of three Metal Gear Solid titles has revealed a significant problem with the PC versions. Initially, there were indications that the games would only support controllers, which disappointed many fans. Although the subsequent removal of this information gave hope for a resolution, the recent re-listing of the games officially confirms that keyboard-and-mouse control schemes are not available. Originally console games on the PS2, the absence of keyboard-and-mouse controls in the remastered versions has raised concerns about the quality of the new releases among fans.

While the Metal Gear Solid compilation will surely excite many franchise enthusiasts, some have criticized the collection for not including two of the franchise's less accessible games: Metal Gear Solid 4 and Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes. Unfortunately, neither of these games is currently available on modern platforms.

The latest installment of the Metal Gear Solid series, including a compilation and a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3, has been unveiled after a prolonged hiatus. Konami, since Hideo Kojima's departure in 2015, has only introduced one new Metal Gear game, with Metal Gear Survive in 2018 receiving a mixed to negative response. The deviation from the established gameplay and the perceived lack of originality in the new Metal Gear game were heavily criticized. Fans of Metal Gear now eagerly anticipate the release of the upcoming compilation and remake, hoping they will bring the franchise back to its original essence.

Set to launch on October 24th, Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 will be available for PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X/S.
