Bowling served as a healthcare specialist in the U.S. Army from February 2010 to February 2014. During his time in the army, he was deployed three times and stationed in Iraq, Kuwait, and Afghanistan, as confirmed by a U.S. Army spokeswoman in April 2024.

Bowling’s daughter, Isabella, played a special role in his wedding to Abby. However, several years after their marriage, he faced a paternity lawsuit from his ex-wife, Annica Bowling, which was filed in October 2023.
Isabella was welcomed by the exes during their nine-year marriage, but they split in April 2019. They now share joint custody of their child, as confirmed in April 2024.
