A prominent figure in the MCU has been cast to play Donald Trump in an upcoming biopic.
Trump gained fame as a real estate mogul in the 1980s, and his influence expanded as he ventured into various industries. He also had a cameo as himself in the first Home Alone sequel.
Following his success on The Apprentice, Trump rose to even greater fame as the host of the popular reality TV show in 2023. The Apprentice, which was based on a British series, featured contestants competing for the opportunity to work for Trump.
After transitioning from a business mogul to a well-known figure in the media, Trump served as the controversial President of the United States from 2017 to 2021. He is now preparing for another potential run for the presidency in 2024.
MCU star to play young Donald Trump in The Apprentice
The Apprentice – Ali Abbasi’s latest film featuring Sebastian Stan as the young Trump, will focus little on the information mentioned above. Instead, the movie will delve into Trump’s endeavors to establish his real estate empire in New York during the ’70s and ’80s, as well as his association with notorious attorney Roy Cohn, as reported by Deadline.
According to Deadline, the upcoming Apprentice film will feature additional cast members such as Jeremy Strong from Succession and Maria Bakalova from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Strong is set to portray Cohn, while Bakalova is rumored to be playing Trump’s first wife, Ivana. As of now, no other actors have been confirmed for the project, which commenced production in late November.
Variety identifies The Apprentice as "The Student," but with Deadline breaking the story, it seems that the former title is the one media outlets are agreeing on. Sebastian Stan's portrayal of the young Trump adds to his impressive list of roles, including Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier in the MCU franchise and acclaimed performances in Pam & Tommy and Dumb Money.
Stan's upcoming project is the psychological thriller A Different Man, followed by his return to the role of Bucky in the team-up movie Thunderbolts, scheduled for release in July 2025. For the latest TV and movie news, don't forget to visit Dexerto for full coverage.
Editor's P/S
As a Gen Z fan, I have mixed feelings about the MCU actor being cast as young Donald Trump in the new series of The Apprentice. On the one hand, I am excited to see how the actor will portray such a controversial figure. On the other hand, I am concerned that the series will whitewash Trump's history and make him seem more likable than he actually was.
I think it is important to remember that Trump is a very polarizing figure. He has been accused of racism, sexism, and xenophobia. He has also been criticized for his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and his role in the January 6th insurrection. I am worried that the series will gloss over these controversies and present Trump in a more positive light.
However, I am also hopeful that the series will provide a nuanced and accurate portrayal of Trump. I think it is important to understand how Trump became such a successful businessman and politician. I also think it is important to understand the impact that he has had on American society. I believe that the series has the potential to be a valuable educational tool, but it will only be successful if it is honest and unflinching in its portrayal of Trump.
