How to Get More Skill Points

As mentioned previously, Starfield players are motivated to obtain more skill points in order to unlock additional skills or enhance previously unlocked skills to a higher level. Acquiring skill points in Starfield is straightforward—players receive one for every experience level attained. Unlike other games, Starfield does not offer alternative methods to obtain skill points. Leveling up remains the sole means of acquiring additional skill points. With no level cap present in Starfield, dedicated players have the opportunity to eventually accumulate enough skill points to unlock and upgrade every skill within the game.

How to Use Skill Points

To spend acquired skill points, players should access the character menu and navigate to the upper right-hand corner of the screen where the skills tab is located. Within this tab, players can explore a variety of skills categorized under Physical, Social, Combat, Science, and Tech. At the beginning of the game, three skills will already be unlocked by default. The specific unlocked skills will vary based on the character's chosen background.

Upon navigating to the desired skill, players can select it to access detailed information about the skill and its corresponding perks for each rank. For example, in order to obtain the second rank of Ballistics, players must eliminate 20 enemies using a ballistic weapon. Each skill rank presents a unique challenge, so players should take note of the specific requirements.
