How to Hatch Fertilized Eggs

Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life is a contemporary rendition of the beloved Harvest Moon farming simulator, initially published in 2003. Within this delightful game, players can immerse themselves in the joys of crop cultivation, animal rearing, and building a family. By engaging in the meticulous process of breeding animals and birds, players have the opportunity to carefully expand their farm while saving money.

When it comes to cost efficiency, chickens prove to be a much more affordable option compared to sheep and cows. Not only do these feathered friends lay eggs on a daily basis, which can be utilized for cooking or selling, but players can also obtain fertilized eggs from them. These fertilized eggs hold greater value and, if properly incubated, will hatch into adorable chicks.

How to Get Fertilized Eggs

There are three types of eggs that hens can lay:

White Eggs

Gold Eggs

Fertilized Eggs

Players have the ability to collect eggs by gently lifting their hens from the ground while they are nesting. Before returning the hens to their nests, players can give the eggs a loving snuggle in order to establish a closer connection. Regular white eggs are the common type laid by hens, and they remain unfertilized. On the other hand, gold eggs are a rarer find and can be sold for 500G each. However, hens will only produce these coveted eggs if their relationship with the player has reached a sufficiently high level.

The color of fertilized eggs is pinkish, and hens can only lay one if there is a Rooster in the coop. Fertilized eggs are relatively rare, but players who have multiple hens and roosters are more likely to come across them. These eggs can be cooked into a delicious meal, sold for 150G, or used to hatch another chicken if players desire.

How to Hatch Fertilized Eggs

Players have the ability to hatch fertilized eggs by placing them in the incubation stations located in the coop. To accomplish this, simply pick up the egg and interact with the incubation station while still holding it. After a few days, the egg will successfully hatch, allowing players to determine the gender of their new chick and give it a name.

The initial coop has enough room for a single incubation station situated in the top left corner. However, players have the option to upgrade their coop in order to house more chickens and have an additional incubation station. The cost of this coop upgrade is 100,000G, requiring players to save up the necessary funds. Once the upgrade is completed, Takakura will provide a tour of the improved coop.

To make room for hens, it is beneficial to remove any extra roosters, as they are the only chickens capable of laying eggs. Players can easily sell unwanted animals at the farm Ledger.
