As gamers progress through the extensive narrative, they will encounter numerous trolls that must be vanquished, as well as optional encounters for side missions. However, this technique may be the best solution for dealing with these enormous magical creatures.

In a recent clip shared by Reddit user Confusedplayer, their Hogwarts Legacy gameplay showcases an encounter with a river troll in the open landscape near the castle. The clip starts with the player initiating a combo with a basic spell, reserving the other spells for a follow-up attack that doesn't occur. Instead, the character summons a broomstick and takes off with the river troll in pursuit. As they speed up and soar off a nearby rocky cliff, the troll chases after them and ultimately falls to their death in a quick fight that's even swifter than a witch or wizard equipped with the instakill ability, Avada Kedavra.

Confusedplayer decided to test this strategy on another troll and confirmed its effectiveness by dodging attacks instead of countering them. The Hogwarts Legacy player once again mounts their broomstick and flies off a cliff, taking a hit in the process, but the troll follows closely behind and takes enough fall damage to die, just like the first troll. According to Confusedplayer's clip, this approach can inflict up to 19,000 damage from drops of varying heights, with the massive size of the magical beast potentially working against it in its final moments.

Fans of Hogwarts Legacy may find Confusedplayer's strategy useful in the early stages of the game, as they will encounter several tough trolls before unlocking the powerful Avada Kedavra spell. These trolls, which are at level thirty, have proven difficult for many players, especially when facing multiple trolls in one arena.
