In Diablo 4, gear holds immense significance, as players will come across a multitude of armor pieces, weapons, and accessories throughout their journey. As expected, the stat values on these items are randomized, and it is crucial to obtain gear with high rolls in order to increase a character's power level. However, it can be difficult to discern whether an item has good rolls or not, as a useful setting is turned off by default.
This setting, known as Advanced Tooltip Information, can be found under the Gameplay tab within the Options menu. By activating this setting, "item property ranges" are added to tooltips, allowing players to gauge the quality of the rolls on a Diablo 4 item.
In Diablo 4, players can use a specific weapon as an example to understand this idea better. The weapon in question has a stat that increases damage dealt by 15.0% to enemies that are crowd controlled. When Advanced Tooltip Information is enabled, players can see the minimum and maximum value range next to the stat. For instance, the aforementioned weapon has a value range of 12.0 to 19.0%, indicating that its Damage to Crowd Controlled Enemies stat is average.
Moreover, Advanced Tooltip Information is helpful in determining the value of the Aspects attached to the Legendary items that players obtain. These Aspects also have a value range, and players can use the Occultist to extract any perfect rolls they receive. It is worth noting that Aspects that are inscribed using the Codex of Power always have the minimum value, so players should look for better versions in the game.
