Achieving Victory over Radahn at the Radahn Festival
Radahn, the fearsome Shardbearer in Elden Ring, must be conquered in order to progress through certain quests within the Lands Between. Gaining access to Radahn proves to be a formidable challenge due to his location within the heavily fortified Redmane Castle in Caelid. However, a unique approach presents itself in the form of the Radahn Festival, providing a means to breach its defenses.
To initiate the Radahn Festival, players must confront the boss known as Radahn, who is stationed in the Wailing Dunes within the game Elden Ring. This event allows players to enlist the aid of various NPCs during the boss battle. There are two possible paths for Tarnished players to commence the festival, and it is ultimately their choice to determine which route they prefer to take.

Numerous paths lead to this destination, with subtle hints guiding players towards confronting this formidable Shardbearer. How to Start the Radahn Festival
Ranni the Witch Method
: Alternative Ways to Initiate the Radahn FestivalRanni's questline offers the quickest path to reach Radahn. Initially, players will encounter her disguised as Renna in the Church of Elleh, where she provides them with the Spirit Calling Bell. This bell allows the tarnished to summon supportive Spirits. While it is not mandatory to meet her here to initiate her questline, doing so provides insights into the demigod's nature.
To officially begin Ranni's questline, make your way to the Three Sisters, situated just beyond Caria Manor in the north of Liurnia of the Lakes. Reaching this location involves a considerable journey, but it becomes easier if you are aware that the higher western region of Liurnia can be accessed via a hill near the Village of Albinaurics. Within Ranni's Rise, the central area of the Three Sisters, players can offer their assistance to the demigod witch.
Grand Lift of Dectus Method
After establishing your presence among the crew, proceed to engage in conversation with Blaidd, who can be found in the Siofra River. Blaidd will then instruct you to seek out Seluvis, Ranni's esteemed Preceptor. Seluvis will guide you towards Sorceress Sellen, situated in the Waypoint Ruins Cellar of Limgrave. It is here that she will divulge the hidden knowledge pertaining to Nokron. To complete this task, return to Blaidd once more in the Siofra River, which will serve as a catalyst for the commencement of the Radahn Festival.
Players need to discover two halves of the Dectus Medallion in order to activate the Grand Lift of Dectus for the Radahn Festival. The first half can be easily found in Fort Haight, located southeast of the Mistwood.
The second half is located in the challenging zone of Dragonbarrow, in the northern region of Caelid. Players can reach this area by either climbing up a slope from Sellia, Town of Sorcery, or by traveling to the Bestial Sanctum and heading south. The other half of the Dectus Medallion can be found in Fort Faroth, situated on the southern cliffs of the Dragonbarrow overlooking Radahn's boss arena.
Once you have obtained both halves of the Dectus Medallion, make your way to the Grand Lift of Dectus location in northeast Liurnia. Position yourself on the elevated platform and when the "Use Dectus Medallion" prompt is visible, press the interact button. The lift will transport Tarnished to Altus Plateau. Call for Torrent and swiftly navigate past the two Giants, heading towards the nearest Site of Lost Grace located on the hill in close proximity.
Activate the Site and advance time until Nightfall. This will initiate the Radahn Festival, granting players access to travel to the Impassable Greatbridge bonfire and confront Radahn.
How to Get to Radahn and Redmane Castle in Caelid
To locate Radahn in Elden Ring, players can seek guidance from either Blaidd at the end of Ranni's quest or Alexander in Limgrave. Both characters allude to the celebration taking place at the Radahn Festival in the Caelid Wilds. To reach the festival grounds, proceed to the Impassible Greatbridge Site of Lost Grace in the southeast region of Caelid.
Obtaining directions from Blaidd necessitates embarking on a journey through Limgrave and Caelid. On the other hand, Alexander provides a straightforward route by crossing the Scarlet Rot towards the southeast. If the Festival was activated by using the Grand Lift of Dectus, teleporting to the nearest Site of Grace, most likely Fort Farroth in the Dragonbarrow, is advised. This is particularly applicable to those who expedited the Medallion by visiting the Beast Clergyman. Proceed south, then west from Fort Farroth to locate a pathway descending into Caelid.
Disfigured T-Rex dogs and Radahn Soldiers are commonly seen near the entrance of the Impassible Greatbridge. However, these creatures quickly engage in combat with each other, creating an opportunity for the Tarnished to break through to the Site of Grace located adjacent to the Greatbridge.
In close proximity to the Site of Grace, there is a visible Waygate. By interacting with this Waygate, one can teleport inside the Redmane Castle. It is important to note that this teleportation only works if the player has initiated the Radahn Festival. Additionally, if the Redmane Castle is in its default state, the teleportation will not be functional. To determine if the teleportation is available, look for a small portal residing within the Waygate and observe a special wind-like effect coursing through it.
Getting to Redmane Castle Early
Getting to Redmane Castle before the Festival and without being able to fight Radahn is indeed possible. However, the waygate remains closed during this time. Instead of encountering Jerren and participating in the festivities, players will need to confront a formidable duo consisting of a Leonine Misbegotten and a Crucible Knight who serve as bosses. Along the path leading to the castle, players will also encounter various obstacles including a Troll and numerous soldiers. Despite these challenges, the reward awaiting them at the end makes the journey worthwhile: the Ruins Greatsword.
How to Fight Radahn at the Radahn Festival
The transformation of Redmane Castle occurs when the Radahn Festival commences, rendering the duo boss inaccessible thereafter. Nevertheless, defeating Radahn and thoroughly engaging in Jerren's conversation subsequently cause Redmane Castle to revert back to its pre-Festival condition.
If you have already ventured into Redmane Castle prematurely and successfully opened the Site of Grace located just outside of the dual boss room, you can conveniently teleport to this Grace to access the festival grounds. Otherwise, navigate your way through the castle grounds, taking care to avoid the lions, until you arrive at a zone bustling with numerous NPCs. Make sure to pay a visit to the Grace situated in a chamber immediately to the right of the Radahn Festival grounds.
At the Festival grounds, players will encounter Blaidd and other champions. Engage with Blaidd and proceed upstairs to meet Jerren, the Witch Hunter, who will welcome everyone to the Radahn Festival. Request to participate in the event, witness the intense cutscene, and then turn towards the northwest to enter the large castle. Outside the rear door, take the nearby lift and interact with the waygate to commence the Radahn battle in the Wailing Dunes.
Elden Ring is currently accessible on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, as well as Xbox One and Series X|S.
