The Nintendo Direct presentation on June 21 kicked off with the highly anticipated trailer for the upcoming DLC, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Divided into two parts, The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk, this DLC holds great promise for Pokemon enthusiasts. The trailers give us a glimpse of the exciting new locations, Kitakami and Blueberry Academy, as well as introducing us to the intriguing new characters Carmine, Kieran, Cyrano, and Lacey. Additionally, the trailer treats us to a first look at the models of some mysterious upcoming Pokemon, including Okidogi, Munikdori, Fezandipiti, Ogerpon, and Terapagos.
While the trailer offers a sneak peek at the new content, fans will also be delighted to see the inclusion of various returning Pokemon in The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk. Whether it's for collection purposes or battling, the return of these beloved Pokemon is something that fans can eagerly anticipate. The trailer showcases a number of Pokemon from previous generations, but it is likely that not all of the returning Pokemon were featured. It seems that Game Freak intends to reveal more of these returning Pokemon in future trailers, or else fans will have to patiently wait until Fall 2023 for the release of the Teal Mask DLC and Winter 2023 for The Indigo Disk.
Previously Confirmed Returning Pokemon From The First DLC Trailer
In February, Pokemon Presents unveiled the initial trailer for The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, which primarily focused on introducing the settings and legendary Pokemon for the two DLC packs. After the trailer, Game Freak showcased twelve Pokemon that would be making a comeback in the DLC.
Among the noteworthy returning creatures are the formidable Metagross, known as a pseudo-Legendary from Gen 3, the mischievous Whimsicott from Gen 5, and the essential Ninetales from Gen 1, which is often found in sun-themed teams. The introduction of these Pokemon will bring new excitement to competitive battles, while casual Pokemon enthusiasts will have the opportunity to catch some of their beloved favorites once the DLC is released.

Additionally, Gligar and Poochyena, which were missing from Pokemon Sword and Shield, will also be available for trainers to catch. In a unique twist, Oricorio - Sensu Style and the original Wooper/Quagsire will have different regional variants in this DLC, setting them apart from their counterparts in Paldean. And of course, the beloved Snorlax will once again be found lazily napping in the game.
