Blizzard has reportedly begun banning Diablo 4 players who are caught using an exploit to transfer their Eternal Realm characters to the Seasonal Realm. This bug, discovered by a community member, quickly gained attention due to its significant impact on gameplay.
In the first season of Diablo 4, players were introduced to the Eternal and Seasonal Realms, requiring them to create new characters for access to seasonal content. However, some players found a way to bypass this system and temporarily transfer their Eternal characters to the Seasonal Realm. Blizzard has addressed this glitch and confirmed that it has been fixed in a recent hotfix, preventing players from exploiting it again. The developer has taken action against some accounts, though the details have not been disclosed. According to user SaintCharlie on the Diablo 4 subreddit, a friend of theirs was banned for using the same exploit. The friend appealed the decision, initially believing it was due to buying gold in the game, but the Blizzard team clarified that it was actually because they had used the character transfer glitch. It is currently unclear whether the bans being issued are permanent or temporary, and it is unknown if others have also been banned for similar reasons, as this is one of the first cases to come to light. Nonetheless, in the comments, players defended Blizzard's decision to issue bans, as it was considered a violation of Diablo 4's Terms of Service.
