Manchester United's offer of £55m for Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount is still on the table, but discussions have reached a stalemate. As a result, United has redirected their attention towards alternative targets, namely Moises Caicedo from Brighton and Adrien Rabiot from Juventus. Currently, United is content with their bid for Mount, even though it was turned down on Friday evening, and does not currently see the need to pursue Chelsea's proposal for in-person negotiations.
Chelsea have offered a counter-proposal of £58m with an additional £7m in add-ons to acquire Mount. They are willing to meet with United in person to reach a mutually beneficial agreement. However, negotiations have reached a deadlock, prompting United to shift their focus to alternative targets, including Brighton midfielder Caicedo.

United also retain an interest in Juventus midfielder Rabiot, whose deal at the Italian club expires at the end of June.
The Frenchman nearly joined Old Trafford last summer, but one of the factors that prevented the deal was Juventus's ability to provide Champions League football, which Manchester United could not offer at the time. However, following their top-four finish last season, Man Utd secured qualification for the competition next season.

Mount is keen on Man Utd move
England international Mount has one year left on his contract at Stamford Bridge and is understood to be keen on a move to Erik ten Hag's side.
United's bid of £55m has been rejected, leading to speculation that they won't increase their offer. However, they are willing to negotiate if Chelsea responds positively. Now, United faces the decision of whether to return to the negotiating table or abandon their pursuit and explore other options.
United may not be able to allocate a significant portion of their budget towards one player, considering the Financial Fair Play rules and their desire to strengthen other areas. Consequently, they are exploring various alternatives in the midfield position. Nonetheless, their spending capacity could improve if they generate income through potential player sales.
United are currently internally discussing the futures of captain Harry Maguire, Fred, Scott McTominay, and Anthony Martial, among others. Fulham has expressed interest in acquiring Fred, although there is a significant difference in valuations. Moreover, United's primary focus for this summer is to recruit at least one new striker.
Interest remains in Atalanta forward Rasmus Hojlund after initial contacts between the clubs. Interestingly, the 20-year-old has recently changed his representation.
Dea Gea's Man Utd future 'in the balance'
The fate of Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea hangs in the balance as his contract is set to expire next week. Despite being on United's released list, negotiations for a new deal are still ongoing.

The Spaniard and United are currently evaluating their choices. United has already initiated discussions with Inter Milan regarding Andre Onana, and has also explored the possibilities with David Raya from Brentford and Diogo Costa from Porto.
While boss Ten Hag has publicly backed De Gea, he cannot guarantee he will be No 1 next season if he was to stay.
How Caicedo went from from tearful teenager in Ecuador to Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd target
Nick Wright played a crucial role in Graham Potter's team at the beginning of the season, where he excelled as a left-sided No 8. This position proved to be successful for him after a year of transition that involved a loan spell in Belgium with Beerschot. However, under the new management of Roberto De Zerbi, Nick Wright was moved back to the base of midfield and occasionally even utilized as a makeshift right-back.
Content: Caicedo showcased his exceptional skills in every aspect of the game, featuring in 34 out of Brighton's 38 Premier League matches and playing a pivotal role in the club's most triumphant season to date. The statistics further emphasize the significant impact he had both defensively and offensively.
"When it comes to winning the ball, he ranks among the top performers in the league."
