Mason Greenwood has been loaned to Getafe by Manchester United. Last month, Manchester United announced Greenwood's departure from the club after conducting an internal investigation into allegations of attempted rape, controlling and coercive behavior, and assault against him.
Manchester United suspended the 21-year-old from training and matches while conducting an internal investigation following the Crown Prosecution Service's decision to drop the case against Greenwood. The CPS had to withdraw the case due to the absence of essential witnesses and the emergence of new evidence, making a conviction highly unlikely.
Mason Greenwood has joined Getafe CF in LaLiga, the premier league of Spanish football, for the remainder of the season. As per a statement from United, the move is a season-long loan and is pending international clearance.
"The move enables Greenwood to begin to rebuild his career away from Manchester United.
"The club will continue to offer its support to Mason and his family during this period of transition."
