The upcoming Marvel Zombies series, a spin-off from the MCU animated series What If…?, is highly anticipated as fans eagerly await its release date, cast details, and plot information.
The upcoming Disney+ series promises to be gory, brutal, and unlike anything we've seen in the MCU - with the exception of What If...?, of course.
Official details about the project are scarce, with only a brief mention at this year's Marvel presentation at San Diego Comic-Con. Despite this, there is still plenty of information to discuss. Here's everything we know so far.
Marvel Zombies: does it have a release date?
As of writing, there is no specific release date for Marvel Zombies.
Marvel's upcoming show, Marvel Zombies, will be the first from the franchise to receive a TV-MA rating and will consist of just four episodes. Michael Zeb Wells, the head writer and executive producer, expressed his excitement for the project at Comic-Con, although he was unsure of the release date.
"I wasn't part of the Zombie episode, but I'm currently working on the spin-off. It hasn't been released yet, but I'm excited about it. When I heard that they were planning a spin-off from that episode, I was all in. It's going to consist of four episodes, and while I'm not sure of the release date yet, it's shaping up to be really cool."

Marvel Zombies plot: What will happen in the show?
There is no official plot synopsis for Marvel Zombies at the moment, but it is expected to draw inspiration from the Zombie What If…? episode and the comic series of the same name. The comics tell the story of an apocalyptic version of the MCU, where a Quantum Virus has transformed the majority of the MCU's superheroes into zombies.
The last episode of What If... Zombies!? left viewers hanging with survivors making their way to Wakanda in hopes of creating a cure for the virus using the Mind Stone, only to be met by Zombie Thanos. It looks like the upcoming episodes will continue from this point, promising an intense zombie battle. Stay tuned for more updates on this.
Marvel’s What If…? is currently available to stream on Disney+.
Editor's P/S
As a passionate fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I am thrilled about the upcoming Marvel Zombies series. The concept of a zombie apocalypse within the MCU is both intriguing and terrifying, and I can't wait to see how the writers and producers bring this story to life. The potential for gore, brutality, and intense action sequences is exciting, and I believe this series could push the boundaries of what we've seen in the MCU so far.
The fact that the series will be rated TV-MA and consist of only four episodes suggests that it will be a more mature and intense take on the zombie genre. I appreciate that Marvel is willing to take risks and explore darker storylines, as it allows for a wider range of storytelling possibilities. The limited episode count also ensures that the story will be tightly paced and focused, without any unnecessary filler.
