Reddit fans have quickly embraced the reboot, showing their love for it and expressing their excitement over Peter's return to a more paternal role.

"Just five pages," one user commented, "and I already feel satisfied with a Spider-Man comic, despite the disappointment from the current ASM series."

“Just seeing Peter call dad brings back all the emotions,” someone else mentioned. Marvel has hinted at the idea of Peter and Mary Jane getting back together with storylines like Renew Your Vows. The highly anticipated relaunch of Ultimate Spider-Man by Marvel Comics will feature an older Peter Parker with a family. As a result, fans are now prepared to abandon Amazing Spider-Man altogether in favor of Hickman’s Ultimate relaunch.

"This preview has generated more excitement than anything happening in the world of 616 Spidey right now, which is objectively hilarious," said one fan.

"I've only had this Peter for five pages, but if anything happens to him, etc, etc," joked another fan.

"He's like a real-life Peter Parker. Are we supposed to believe that everything will turn out okay?" someone else chimed in. "But it's good to see him happy for a change. The Amazing Spider-Man series had an excessively unlucky streak for Parker and it got old."

In the rebooted Ultimate Universe, Ultimate Spider-Man follows a version of Peter who was never bitten by a radioactive spider. His destiny was taken by The Maker, who reshaped the universe to reflect his own image.

The Maker's plans were thwarted thanks to Howard Stark's efforts. Now, his son Tony has become Iron Lad and retrieved stolen resources, including the spider that was meant to bite Peter. Ultimate Spider-Man #1 will be available on stands on January 10, 2024. Stay tuned to Dexerto for more news on Spider-Man and Marvel Comics.

Editor's P/S

As a Gen Z fan, I am thrilled about the upcoming Ultimate Spider-Man comic book series. The preview pages have given us a glimpse into Peter Parker's life as a married man with children, and it's a refreshing take on the character. I've always wanted to see a more family-centered Spider-Man, and it looks like Hickman and Checchetto are delivering on that front. The fact that Peter is older and more experienced adds a new layer of depth to the character, and I can't wait to see how his relationships with his family and friends develop.

The preview also hints at a more lighthearted and humorous tone for the series, which is a welcome change from the often dark and brooding Amazing Spider-Man comics. I appreciate that the writers are willing to take risks and explore new aspects of Peter Parker's character. Overall, I'm incredibly excited about Ultimate Spider-Man and can't wait to read the full series when it comes out in 2024.
