In line with the evolving marketing landscape, Mars has appointed a chief brand and experience officer. This move recognizes the changing role of marketers within top-level executive teams. According to a report from Spencer Stuart, the average tenure of Fortune 500 CMOs decreased to 4.2 years in 2022, compared to the previous year's average of 4.5 years. The chief brand officer role has gained popularity within various companies, including Disney, which appointed its first CBO in April, and Focus Brands, which appointed one for Jamba. Furthermore, Sean Tresvant, Taco Bell's Global Chief Brand and Strategy Officer, is set to become the CEO on Jan. 1, 2024.
