Marlon Wayans is in a situation where his ex, Brittany Moreland, is seeking full custody of their 15-month-old daughter, Axl, and is requesting an increase in child support.

Wayans, who is 51 years old, currently pays $18,000 a month in child support. Moreland, aged 34, is asking for an additional $2,000. She also wants Wayans to have visitation rights, but he disagrees with being labeled as just a "visitor" to his own child.

Wayans expressed his frustration in an interview with The Shade Room, questioning the idea of paying a significant amount of money each month and still being referred to as just a 'visitor'. He described this as delusional and stated that he will leave it to his lawyers and God to handle the situation. Despite the challenges he is facing, Wayans shared that he will channel his emotions into creating art, emphasizing that he still has love in his heart, even during difficult times.

In addition to addressing the issue of being labeled a 'visitor', Wayans also made a comment about Moreland's request for increased child support.

"He mentioned a common scenario where a caring father is paying over $18k monthly for his one-year-old child, yet the mother demands even more. In his opinion, his own family would have been ecstatic over $2k."

Wayans also shares two children, Kai (23) and Shawn (21), with his former partner Angela Zackery, whom he was with from 1992 to 2013.

He pointed to his positive relationship with Zackery as evidence of his responsible parenting.

He expressed frustration, saying, "I see so many women having to take men to court who don't contribute anything to their children." He questioned why a woman, who earns a doctor's salary, claims it is not sufficient for their child. He emphasized his own experiences, having two children prior without encountering similar issues. He emphasized his integrity, stating he is a good man with a caring heart and a strong sense of duty, but he will not allow himself to be taken advantage of or undermined.

The Scary Movie star wants to clear up rumors about hiding their daughter from the public. He signed a voluntary declaration of parentage on December 13, 2022, just a day after the baby girl was born.

According to Wayans, "The baby isn't a secret. The mother has been posted. But I decided to keep her private life private. It's nobody's business. Social media can be toxic and dangerous, and I prefer to protect her peace."

Wayans doesn't usually talk about his kids, but he recently shared that his oldest child, Kai, came out as transgender.

During a November 2023 episode of “The Breakfast Club” podcast, Wayans revealed, "I have a daughter that transitioned into a son. My daughter Amai is now Kai." He also mentioned that he will discuss Kai's journey in an upcoming comedy special.

Wayans explained his personal journey as a parent, moving from ignorance and denial to complete, unconditional love and acceptance. He believes many other parents could benefit from hearing this message, as he himself has. Despite the pain he experienced, Wayans considers it one of the best and funniest hours he could imagine.

The comedian shared that his upcoming special, possibly titled Skittles or Rainbow Child, was performed in front of significant "world leaders." He intentionally chose to showcase his set about his child Kai to this audience.

The crowd was huge, but I knew I had to do this set right there because it meant a lot to me. Comedy is important to me, as well as my children. And most importantly, I believe in the power of change.

Marlon Wayans's situation highlights the challenges and complexities of modern parenting, particularly when it comes to custody and financial arrangements. While Wayans is understandably frustrated by the request for increased child support, it is important to note that Moreland is likely seeking to ensure the well-being of their child. The court will ultimately determine what is fair and equitable, considering the needs of the child and the income of both parents.

Wayans's comments about his own positive relationship with his ex-partner and his desire to be more than a "visitor" to his daughter demonstrate a commitment to being an active and involved father. However, it is also crucial for both parents to put aside personal differences and prioritize the child's best interests. Co-parenting can be challenging, but it is essential for providing children with the stability and support they need to thrive.
