Mark Wahlberg experienced a taste of college life he missed out on when he attended a frat party with his 20-year-old daughter, Ella. "It was wild," Wahlberg, 52, shared with Entertainment Tonight in a December 12 interview. "Parents' weekend was unforgettable."
The actor of Ted visited his eldest daughter, whom he has with his wife Rhea Durham, at Clemson University in September. "They were having the best time I have ever seen anyone have, ever!" he exclaimed. "Even more than when she came to Vegas. I was at the frat house and a few places in town."
Wahlberg, who never went to college, humorously commented that he would still be part of a fraternity if he had attended a four-year university. "I would still be at the frat house," he joked, "I'd be a 25th year senior."
This isn't the first time The Family Plan star has spoken about Ella's college experience. In September, he mentioned that "she's just so happy there" and "really thriving."
"We recently attended parents' weekend with the sorority girls and frat house," Wahlberg told Today. "It was quite an experience. I never really felt like I missed out on college until then."
In addition to Ella, Wahlberg and Durham have a 13-year-old daughter named Grace, and sons Michael, 17, and Brendan, 15. After living in California for several years, Wahlberg announced in October 2022 that his family of six had moved to Nevada.
During his appearance on The Talk, he expressed his desire to work from home. He spoke about moving to California to pursue acting, but with limited success. He emphasized the importance of giving his children a better life and supporting their dreams, whether it's his daughter's passion for equestrian, his son's love for basketball, or his younger son's interest in golf. The decision to move was driven by the desire for a fresh start and new opportunities for his family, and he expressed excitement for the future.

In August 2018, Wahlberg told We exclusively that his celebrity status is not a concern for his children. He mentioned that they only bring up his fame when they want to attend a concert or meet a famous person. Wahlberg expressed that he is content with his kids seeing him as just their dad. He also shared that they handle being followed on the street, a result of his fame, with maturity, which he is proud of.
