Margot Robbie, after the huge success of the Barbie movie, is now gearing up for her next big screen project. And guess what? It's not what you might have thought!
The 33-year-old star is diving into another live-action film project. This time, she will be producing the movie adaptation of The Sims, which is a massively popular computer game.
LuckyChap, the production company led by Robbie, her husband Tom Ackerley, Josey McNamara, and Sophia Kerr, is continuing to bask in the success of their work on Barbie. They will be taking the lead on the feature film project alongside Roy Lee and Miri Yoon from Vertigo Entertainment.
Electronic Arts, the publisher of the game, will provide creative direction for the film.
The Sims is a popular life simulation computer game that was first launched in 2000. In this game, players control an avatar that can have different personality traits, skills, and relationships.
Unlike Barbie, The Sims does not have a central character. However, there are similarities between the game and the iconic doll. The characters in The Sims lead ordinary lives, performing everyday tasks like cooking, going to work, and doing household chores.

A release date of the film is yet to be confirmed.
Robbie has already produced 13 films through her production company, including last year’s hit thriller Saltburn.
In January, she announced that she would be taking a break from acting after the huge success of Barbie at the Box Office worldwide.
The actress from Australia shared with Deadline: "I think everyone is probably tired of seeing me on screen. I should probably take a break for a bit. Honestly, if I did another movie too soon, people would say, 'Her again? We just spent a whole summer with her. We're done with it.'"
She added: “I don’t know what I’ll do next, but I hope it’s a little while away.”
Elsewhere in the interview, she also spoke of her ambitions to direct a movie of her own.
Robbie did not receive a nomination for Best Actress for Barbie at this year's Oscars. However, the movie was nominated for several awards, such as Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Production Design, and Best Costume Design.
Some of the hit songs from the movie, like "I'm Just Ken" by Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt (performed by Ryan Gosling) and "What Was I Made For?" by Billie Eilish and Finneas O'Connell, were nominated for Original Song. Eilish ended up winning the award, making her the only winner from the film that night.
Editor's P/S:
Margot Robbie's latest venture into producing a live-action adaptation of The Sims is an exciting prospect for fans of the iconic video game. The game's open-ended gameplay and focus on ordinary lives provide ample opportunities for a compelling film that explores themes of identity, relationships, and the human condition. With Robbie's track record of producing successful films, including "Barbie" and "Birds of Prey," there is reason to be optimistic about the quality of this upcoming project.
The absence of a central character in The Sims presents a unique challenge for the filmmakers. However, it also opens up the possibility for a more ensemble-driven narrative that follows multiple characters as they navigate the ups and downs of everyday life. By incorporating elements of comedy, drama, and social commentary, the film could appeal to a wide audience while remaining faithful to the spirit of the game. in the future.
