As the students devise a plan, numerous sorcerers, both experienced and new, become involved in the unprecedented occurrence of Jujutsu terrorism.

However, neither the Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 finale nor the special promotional video disclosed the release date for the upcoming season, leaving fans unsure of when it will premiere. As a result, fans may face a prolonged wait before receiving any news about the series' release window.

Will Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 only adapt the Culling Game Arc?

Fans who are not aware of the manga series should know that there are two arcs that occur between the Shibuya Incident Arc and the Culling Game Arc. The final episode of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 aligns with the end of the Shibuya Incident Arc, indicating that MAPPA will likely adapt the next two arcs - Itadori's Extermination Arc and Perfect Preparation Arc - before moving on to the Culling Game Arc.

The reason for announcing the upcoming anime as an adaptation of the Culling Game Arc is due to the relatively short length of the Itadori's Extermination Arc and Perfect Preparation Arc, which together only span 22 chapters. In contrast, the Culling Game Arc consists of 63 chapters. Given that the second season of the anime covered 73 chapters, it seems very likely that MAPPA will be able to animate Jujutsu Kaisen season 3, covering a total of 85 chapters.

Editor's P/S

As a dedicated Jujutsu Kaisen fan, I am thrilled about the announcement of the Culling Game Arc trailer following the conclusion of season 2. The Culling Game Arc is one of the most intense and action-packed arcs in the manga, and I can't wait to see it brought to life in the anime. The trailer gives us a glimpse of the high-stakes battles and complex character dynamics that make this arc so compelling. I'm particularly excited to see how MAPPA will adapt some of the more intricate fight scenes, such as the battle between Yuji Itadori and Mahito.

However, I do have some concerns about the pacing of the upcoming season. The Culling Game Arc is significantly longer than the arcs covered in season 2, and I'm worried that MAPPA might rush through some of the material in order to fit it all into a single season. I would much prefer a slower, more deliberate adaptation that allows the story to breathe and the characters to develop fully. Overall, I'm optimistic about the future of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime and can't wait to see what MAPPA has in store for us in season 3.
