The team is currently facing another difficult moment in a season filled with ups and downs.

During Alex Ferguson's time as manager, the club was a powerhouse in both domestic and European soccer, consistently outperforming other teams and securing numerous important titles.

Since Ferguson retired in 2013, Manchester United has found it challenging to replicate their past success. The current manager, like many before him, is facing immense pressure due to the team's struggles, which have been exacerbated by recent changes in ownership.

The 32-year-old, who was once regarded as one of the best players in the world during his time at Real Madrid, appeared noticeably vulnerable and completely exposed against Palace’s energetic forwards.

The visiting United fans continued to try to motivate the team and many stayed in the stands after the final whistle to sing chants and applaud the players.

Ten Hag expressed his disappointment, stating that it is clear and obvious that the team is underperforming. He emphasized that their actions did not meet their standards and it is far from satisfactory. Despite the disappointment, he acknowledged the unwavering support of the fans and reassured that they will continue to fight, just like the fans have always done.

The club has three league games left to move up the standings and secure a spot in either the Europa League or Europa Conference for next season. Chelsea is currently in seventh place, holding onto the last European qualification position.

United's next match is against Arsenal, who are title contenders, on Sunday.

They are also set to face their local rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup final on May 25. While winning this match at Wembley may be a challenge given their current form, it could also guarantee them a spot in European football next season.
