Manchester United is on the verge of an early Champions League elimination after giving up a two-goal lead twice in a chaotic 3-3 draw with Galatasaray. Erik ten Hag's team began the match strongly, showing no fear of the notoriously hostile atmosphere at Istanbul's RAMS Park. They managed to take the lead with a goal from Alejandro Garnacho after just 11 minutes, thanks to a brilliant, seamless play.
Captain Bruno Fernandes extended United's lead with an incredible long-range goal just seven minutes later, while Hakim Ziyech's free-kick caught Andre Onana off guard and narrowed the deficit after thirty minutes.

Manchester United is struggling to find a winning formula under Dutch coach Erik ten Hag, with the mood around the club growing darker. Just 10 minutes into the second half, Scott McTominay restored United's two-goal lead with a swift counterattack. However, Onana's nightmare at his new club continued as the Cameroon international inexplicably diverted Ziyech's cross into his own net, making it 3-2.
The goal spurred the players and the home crowd as Galatasaray sought an equalizer. They didn't have to wait long, as substitute Muhammed Kerem AktürkoÄlu unleashed a powerful shot past Onana to bring his team level in less than 10 minutes.
Both teams had numerous opportunities to secure a victory in the final 20 minutes of the match, but ultimately had to accept a draw. Following the game, ten Hag expressed contentment with the team's performance, yet also expressed regret over another night of costly errors.
Garnacho got united off to a flying start.
Dutchman, speaking to TNT Sports after the game, expressed his disappointment at not securing three points but still praised the team for their strong performance in previous matches against Galatasaray and Copenhagen.
"We also need to critique the team - including the coaching staff and myself as manager - because our defense is not up to par. When we're leading 3-1, we can't afford to make the mistakes we did, as they can make all the difference. In the Champions League, you get penalized for errors, so we need to learn from this experience." - Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag speaking to TNT Sports after his team's 3-3 draw with Galatasjson November 29.
United has now allowed 14 goals in only five Champions League group matches, the highest number conceded by an English club after five games in the competition's history, as reported by Opta.
United currently sits at the bottom of Group A with four points, while Copenhagen and Galatasaray are one point ahead in second and third place respectively. Bayern had already secured qualification for the knockout stages before their 0-0 draw with Copenhagen on Tuesday.
Despite improving in the Premier League and winning five of its last six matches to rise to sixth place, United's performances have been consistently lackluster. The recent 3-0 loss at home to Manchester City highlighted the team's distance from competing with the top teams, despite significant investment in player transfers.
An error-plagued evening from Andre Onana proved costly.
Manchester United was decisively eliminated from the League Cup by Newcastle following another 3-0 loss at home, making the FA Cup their only plausible opportunity for a trophy this season.
The teams only chance of reaching the Champions League knockout stages is to beat Bayern Munich at Old Trafford in the final group game and hope that Copenhagen and Galatasaray draw.
