According to a recent report by the CIES Football Observatory, Manchester United have invested more funds in building their current team than any other football club worldwide. The report states that the players currently present at Old Trafford have been acquired for a staggering £991.7m, slightly surpassing the £977.9m expenditure of their Premier League counterparts, Chelsea.
Manchester City is ranked third in terms of squad value, with a total cost of £898.5m. They are followed by Paris Saint-Germain (£862.3m), Arsenal (£720.9m), Tottenham (£714.9m), Liverpool (£664m), Real Madrid (£610.5m), Newcastle (£570m), and West Ham (£435.5m).
Furthermore, the report highlights the breakdown of expenditure in different positions and reveals that only PSG has allocated more funds than Manchester United towards their current forwards.
