Magician David Copperfield, who is 67 years old, has been accused by 16 women of sexual misconduct and inappropriate behavior. The allegations, reported by the Guardian newspaper, cover a period of three decades from the late 1980s to 2014.

Some of the main accusations against Copperfield include allegations that he drugged three women before engaging in sexual activities with them, making them unable to give consent. Additionally, some women claimed they were only 15 years old when they had encounters with him.

In response, Copperfield has denied all allegations of misconduct. His legal team stated to the Guardian that he has never engaged in inappropriate behavior with anyone, especially not with minors.

Gillian, a woman who preferred to remain anonymous, shared with the publication that she believes she was drugged and therefore unable to consent to sexual activity with Copperfield in 1993 after meeting him following a show.

"I... would never make such a claim if I didn't genuinely believe that I was drugged during that time," she expressed.

Copperfield's lawyers rejected the woman's accusations, stating that drugs are not a part of his life, according to the Guardian. In a detailed statement to The Hollywood Reporter, a spokesperson for Copperfield also refuted the allegations.

David Copperfield's representative stated that the recent allegations made by one newspaper do not reflect who David truly is. In fact, David has a history of standing up for women and risking his career to protect them from powerful predators. Many of these accusations are not new and have been proven false in the past.

When David requested evidence to support these allegations, none was provided. On the other hand, when US law enforcement has looked into similar matters, they have found no case to answer. The Guardian's portrayal of David does not align with his character, as he continues to support those who have faced abuse or discrimination.

The movement needs to be successful, but false accusations must be put to an end for it to thrive. David will be discussing the situation with his legal team and will take necessary actions against these untrue and scandalous claims.

Copperfield has previously refuted allegations of sexual misconduct, including accusations made against him in 2007 and 2018. During these times, he was accused of drugging and assaulting a 17-year-old model.

Copperfield addressed accusations in a statement on X, expressing frustration over being portrayed as guilty without considering the accuser's arrest and his innocence. He urged fans to refrain from passing judgment hastily.

Known for his grand illusions, Copperfield has captivated audiences with televised feats like making the Statue of Liberty vanish and reappear, as well as escaping Alcatraz in the 1980s. Recently, he has gained popularity for his Las Vegas shows at the MGM Grand.
