The Love Is Blind season 5 reunion will not be live, but this does not diminish the confrontational nature of the gathering for the former couples.
"I believe he was not interested in me," Taylor Rue remarked in a trailer released on Saturday, October 14, for the upcoming episode. The camera then showed her ex-fiancé, Jared "JP" Pierce, shaking his head.
Taylor, who is 26 years old, and JP, who is 32 years old, experienced an immediate connection within the Love Is Blind pods during their time in Houston. Despite becoming engaged without seeing each other, their relationship faced difficulties once they finally met in person.
"It was during the reveal that I first noticed it, but I didn't dwell on it too much since it was our first time seeing each other," Taylor shared exclusively with We last month. "Both of us were nervous, so I didn't delve deeper into it until we reached Mexico."
Once they got to Mexico, JP criticized his fiancé for wearing too much makeup and claimed that he liked her fresh-faced way more.

She expressed her feelings, saying, "I felt a deep sense of hurt and confusion. It was difficult for me to accept that our relationship was seemingly coming to an end solely based on my appearance. We had developed such a strong bond, and I believed that Jared was the person I would spend my life with."
Taylor ultimately decided to end their engagement due to concerns about what it would be like to live together. She expressed her reasons for leaving, stating, "The person I fell in love with, JP, seemed to have changed and that frightened me. I was supposed to build a life with this person, but in Mexico, I felt like I hardly knew him. So, after careful consideration, I realized part of me wanted to stay, but another part of me was ready to go back home."
JP has not publicly addressed Taylor's statements regarding the decline in their relationship. However, there have been allegations that he is now in a new relationship.

“He’s genuinely a great person. I had the chance to spend some quality time with him. From what I know, he’s been in a committed relationship for a year now, so he must be doing something right,” stated Izzy Zapata, a fellow cast member, during a recent episode of the "Viall Files" podcast. "I think some men struggle to connect with their emotions or effectively express them, and I believe that was the case for him."
Alongside Taylor and JP discussing their breakup, the reunion special will feature interviews with other cast members, including Izzy Zapata, Stacy Snyder (his ex-fiancé), Johnie Maraist, Chris Fox, and Aaliyah Cosby. Additionally, Milton Johnson and Lydia Velez Gonzalez, the only couple from season 5 who tied the knot, will also be part of the TV special.
“Doesn’t always end in fairy tales,” Chris, 28, quipped in the teaser.
The Love Is Blind season 5 reunion premieres on Netflix on Sunday, October 15, at 8 p.m. ET.
