Long-Awaited Return: Legendary Kadabra Returns to Solo Spotlight in New Pokemon TCG Set

Kadabra, the beloved Gen 1 Pokemon, is set to make a long-awaited comeback in the Pokemon TCG Excitement builds as a confirmed release date is announced for its highly anticipated return

The highly anticipated release of the first Pokemon Trading Card Game set featuring Kadabra in decades now has an official date. Fans can rejoice as they will soon have the opportunity to add this iconic Gen 1 Pokemon to their Pokemon TCG collections.

Unlike Porygon, whose reputation suffered due to a controversial Pokemon anime episode causing seizures in children, Kadabra's absence from the Pokemon Trading Card Game for the past twenty years was a result of a different issue. A well-known magician named Uri Geller filed a lawsuit claiming that the Pokemon was unlawfully using his likeness. This claim sparked debate over its validity, but the resemblance between Kadabra's Japanese name, Yungerer, and the magician's name, as well as the Pokemon's ability to mimic Geller's famous spoon bending magic, ultimately angered the magician. However, after numerous requests from dedicated fans of the Pokemon series, Geller recently granted permission for the Pokemon Company to reintroduce Kadabra's design without any fear of further legal complications.

The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet 151 TCG collection, which was previously announced a few months ago, now has a confirmed release date of September 22. This collection will feature the original 151 Pokemon, including the iconic starters from the Pokemon Red and Blue games. With more than 160 cards in the set, including over ten trainer cards and 12 new Pokemon ex cards, players will have plenty of options to enhance their gameplay. Additionally, this collection presents the opportunity for players to obtain the first Kadabra card to be officially released in 20 years.

The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet 151 TCG collection will be available for purchase in various formats, catering to different preferences. Players can choose to try their luck with a standard booster pack or opt for special cards and bonuses such as playmats and coins. The Elite Trainer Box will be launched on September 22, while other collections like the Ultra Premium Collection will become available on October 6.

With the return of Kadabra, it is highly probable that these Pokemon card sets will quickly sell out, just like previous launches. Fans should consider the possibility of these sets disappearing from store shelves and being resold at higher prices online, as has been the case with many Pokemon cards and sets. The extreme popularity of Pokemon cards has even led to their complete disappearance from stores in Japan and incidents of thefts in both the west and Japan. However, fans need not worry too much if they miss out on this particular launch, as Kadabra is expected to make future appearances in upcoming Pokemon Trading Card Game releases. The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet 151 TCG is set to launch on September 22.
