Following the conclusion of Loki Season 2, Tom Hiddleston has cautioned against dismissing the possibility of returning to the role, and this includes the potential for a reunion with Chris Hemsworth's Thor. The last encounter between Loki and Thor took place in the initial scene of Avengers: Endgame, where Loki surrenders the tesseract to Thanos, vowing his unwavering loyalty, before ultimately attempting and failing to eliminate him in a violent manner.
The Great Titan effortlessly lifted him up as though he was a mere plaything, effortlessly ending his life with a swift snap of his neck. He callously discarded the lifeless body right in front of his captive brother. After successfully evading death on two separate occasions, this seemed to be the final curtain call for the trickster deity known as the God of Mischief. However, fate took a peculiar turn in Endgame, causing a time-travel mishap that allowed the 2012 version of Loki to slip through the Avengers' clutches, thus eluding the imminent prosecution he faced in Asgard.
Although the two brothers exchanged their final words, with the elder offering reassurance that brighter days would eventually dawn upon them once again, devoted followers of the Marvel Cinematic Universe continue to anxiously await the fulfillment of this promise.
Tom Hiddleston addresses possible Loki return and Thor reunion
In a new interview with Comic Book, Hiddleston was asked if he’ll return as Loki after the Season 2 finale, which seemed to “close the book” on the character’s journey.
"It's incredibly difficult for me to be truthful with you... I must admit, there have been two occasions in my life where I have bid farewell," he disclosed.
I have taken the initiative to write heartfelt letters to Kevin Feige, Louis de Esposito, and Victoria Alonso, expressing my deep appreciation. I let them know that this role has been a once-in-a-lifetime experience. In response, they have graciously assured me that I am always welcome, an integral part of their family. They have conveyed their continued support, acknowledging the profound impact I have had. Emotions ran high, and tears were shed during these exchanges. Consequently, I believe it would be imprudent to make any definitive statements regarding the situation at this time.
Fans eagerly await the moment when Loki reunites with Thor in the MCU storyline, likely in Secret Wars. Thor never witnessed the transformation of Loki into the hero he always had the potential to be - more than just a deity ruling from a throne, but Thor's equal.
Hiddleston expressed that both Thor and Loki have undergone the process of delving deep into their pasts, questioning their true identities and desires. Additionally, Hiddleston pondered about the intriguing aspect of family dynamics, explaining that it can be challenging to let go of preconceived notions of how they used to be. It is possible that Loki may anticipate a specific behavior or demeanor from Thor, while Thor might have certain expectations of Loki. The initial reunion between them would likely be bewildering due to their long separation and the potential influence they have had on each other's thoughts. Hiddleston eagerly awaits the revelation of what this reunion would entail.

As a Gen Z fan, I am thrilled at the prospect of Loki's return and a potential reunion with Thor. Tom Hiddleston's portrayal of Loki has been one of the highlights of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and I am eager to see what the future holds for the character.
I think it would be really interesting to see how Loki and Thor's relationship has evolved since the events of Avengers: Endgame. In the past, they have had a complicated and often strained relationship, but I think they have both grown and changed a lot since then. I am hopeful that they will be able to put their differences aside and work together to protect the universe.
I am also curious to see how Loki will interact with the other characters in the MCU. He has always been a bit of an outsider, but I think he could find a place to belong in the new world that is being created. I am particularly excited to see how he interacts with the new Thor, Jane Foster. I think they could have a really interesting dynamic.
Overall, I am very excited about the possibility of Loki's return. I think it would be a great way to continue the character's story and explore new possibilities for the MCU.
