Nearly five year after Kathie Lee Gifford left Today, she is still in contact with her former cohost Hoda Kotb. On the January 10 episode of Today with Hoda and Jenna, Kotb, 59, shared an update on Gifford's life, mentioning that she is living in Nashville, writing music, and spending time with her adorable grandkids.
In the "Faves and Finds" segment, Kotb revealed a new song written by 70-year-old Gifford called "3 Little Words." This pop ballad, performed by Louis York featuring Tamia, is set to be released on Friday, January 12. After co-hosting alongside Kotb on the Today show since 2008, Gifford departed from the fourth hour in April 2019. The duo's playful antics and lively discussions on popular culture and entertainment made them fan favorites, often accompanied by a glass of wine.
Gifford left in April 2019 and was replaced by Jenna Bush Hager, who is currently serving as cohost with Kotb.
Although updates on Gifford have been infrequent on Today with Hoda and Jenna, she has been active on social media, keeping fans updated on her activities. Kotb's update reflects Gifford's Instagram posts - Gifford is living in Nashville, working on her bible study course, and interviewing celebrity friends such as Julie Chen Moonves. She is also spending time with her family, including her grandson Finn, born to daughter Cassidy in June 2023. Gifford is also the grandmother of son Cody's son, Frankie, born in June 2022, and his younger brother Ford, born in November 2023.
Gifford has been romantically linked to Richard Spitz, with whom she was first seen in March 2023. The pair has chosen to keep their relationship private, despite speculation from the media. Prior to this, Gifford was married to Frank Gifford for three decades until his passing in 2015.
