Remedy Entertainment has released the patch notes for the latest update of Alan Wake 2, addressing over a hundred issues in the game. The developers are actively working to resolve these problems through regular patches.
Recently, Patch 9 was released for Alan Wake 2. This minor update addressed audio issues encountered by Xbox players in certain segments of the game and resolved bugs that affected missions. Players can now anticipate a much larger update.
Patch 10 for Alan Wake 2 addresses more than a hundred issues. It primarily focuses on resolving general bugs, mission-specific problems, and localization issues. Additionally, it includes some adjustments to enhance the overall experience. The most notable improvement in Patch 10 is the fix for a critical bug that previously hindered the progression of certain players in the Scratch (A New Plan) mission. Other significant updates encompass rebalancing the Nightingale boss fight in Normal difficulty, eliminating a glitch that caused rain indoors, and rectifying an issue with furniture placement that obstructed progress for some players.
Aside from these general fixes, each platform also received specific updates. Xbox players of Alan Wake 2 will no longer have to deal with missing or cut off audio. PS5 gamers will notice two specific changes: a fixed issue with incorrect audio states near the end of the game and a rare case where using Share Play would crash the game.
Despite some remaining issues, Remedy Entertainment has been proactive in addressing them by releasing 10 patches in less than a month. Once the bug-fixing is complete, the next step will be delivering the promised free DLC for Alan Wake 2. Director Sam Lake had previously announced that significant new story content would be added after the game's launch. Although the DLC drops have not been made available yet, Alan Wake 2 already has two planned expansions: Night Springs and Lake House. These expansions, scheduled for 2024, will be larger and paid. Notably, Night Springs will allow players to control characters other than Alan Wake and Saga Anderson, according to the game's creators.
