LaLiga's Groundbreaking Sponsorship Deal with CPD Llanfairpwll FC Creates Waves in North Wales Football

LaLiga partners with CPD Llanfairpwll FC, the team with the world's longest football club name, strengthening ties between Spanish top flight and Welsh fifth-tier side until season end

LaLiga is now the main sponsor of the football club with the longest name, Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndropwllllantysiliogogogoch, in the North Wales Coast West Division One, which is the fifth tier of the Welsh domestic football system. This partnership between LaLiga and CPD Llanfairpwll FC, located on Anglesey, will be for the current season.

The village was also presented with a fresh sign displaying the phrase "Welcome To Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch". In Welsh, the letter 'Ll' is considered distinct from 'L' and has its own pronunciation. Consequently, each of the five instances of 'Ll' in the village's name were replaced with the new logo of LaLiga.

CPD Llanfairpwll FC will reach a significant milestone next year as it commemorates its 125th anniversary. Samantha Jones-Smith, the chairperson of CPD Llanfairpwll FC, expressed her enthusiasm for the remarkable partnership with the club.

"Not only is it the most exciting collaboration the club has ever had but it also allows us to improve both on and off the field," she said.

Keegan Pierce, the UK and Ireland's managing director for LaLiga, expressed that the league extends beyond football in Spain.

According to him, LaLiga represents the largest football ecosystem globally, captivating and entertaining millions of viewers.

This partnership provides a creative opportunity to showcase our new 'Ll' visual identity and amplify our grassroots support throughout the UK, aligning with our new brand positioning for this year.
