Lainey Wilson Cece Dawson
Lainey Wilson was the most highly anticipated arrival and performer at the 2023 CMA Awards. At only 31 years old, she received a remarkable nine nominations, making her the most nominated artist of the year, including a nomination for Entertainer of the Year. This year's nominations add to her previous success, as she was also the most nominated artist last year and won awards for Best New Artist and Female Vocalist. These accolades are the cherry on top of Wilson's successful career in country music.
"I grew up watching the CMAs as a young girl and would dream of being a part of it. So, this year's nominations were a surreal moment for me. It's like a dream come true," said the singer of "Heart Like a Truck" exclusively to We. "Reflecting on the year I've had with my band and crew, it truly feels like our hard work is finally paying off. I have a deep love for country music, and I am profoundly grateful for the love and support I have received." The CMAs indeed showed Wilson immense love by awarding her with Album of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year, along with Music Video of the Year and Music Event of the Year, where she collaborated with Hardy.
But Wilson, who also stars in Yellowstone, is known for more than just her performance chops. She’s become famous for her style.
Lainey Wilson made an appearance at the 57th Annual CMA Awards in Nashville, Tennessee on November 08, 2023. The country singer expressed her fashion choices, stating that she aims to stay authentic to herself while also making a statement. Famously recognized for her love of bell bottoms and hats, Wilson embraces her signature look and encourages others to dress in what makes them feel their best.
Wilson looked absolutely stunning as she made her way down the CMAs red carpet wearing a striking Carolina Herrera black strapless jumpsuit. The outfit was elevated with ruffled bell bottoms, complemented by Sam Edelman shoes and a stylish black hat from Wilson’s very own Charlie 1 Horse collection. Adding to the allure was a breathtaking patriotic necklace adorned with a diamond-dripping eagle and stars, courtesy of Haybelle Co.
Wilson's stylist, Cherie Kilchrist, understands the essence of Wilson's style and always ensures to incorporate two key elements: bell bottoms and a statement hat. Kilchrist drew inspiration from iconic country music legends such as Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire to create a chic and mysterious cowgirl look for the red carpet. To stay true to Wilson's cowgirl roots for her performance, Kilchrist turned to trusted brands like Wrangler.

Wilson delivered an electrifying rendition of her popular song "Wildflowers and Wild Horses" while donning a Wrangler crop top featuring floor-length fringe detailing. Complementing the top, she wore distressed wide-leg pants from Understated Leather. To enhance her rugged rodeo queen persona, Wilson wore a modified version of her signature hat from her own line, which exuded a more weathered feel.
“It’s very important for my clients to feel like the best version of themselves,” Kilchrist said. “I love that Lainey knows exactly who she is and stays true to where she comes from.”
