Inspiration can strike at any moment. It can come in the shower, surprise you over coffee, or, if you're Lady Gaga, right as you're about to fall asleep.
With Gaga, 37, currently in full album mode and preparing her follow-up to 2020's Chromatica, she recently shared an update with her fans from her bedroom on Sunday, March 3. In a relaxed moment, with her hair wrapped up and brows bleached, the "Stupid Love" singer posted a selfie on Instagram while lounging on her mattress.
She captioned the shot with "Xoxo night night," mentioning that she was busy writing lyrics in bed. Sleep tight.
In January, Gaga hinted that she was working on her seventh solo studio album by sharing two Instagram photos from inside a recording studio. The photos showed her in a sweater dress, shin-high lace-up chunky heels, and black sunglasses in a dimly lit room. She captioned the photos with a black heart and a music note emoji, sparking excitement among her fans, the Little Monsters, for new music.
Gaga has been keeping her fans updated from the studio. She shared a photo on January 9, jokingly telling her followers she was at church. A month later, she was spotted in Bradley Cooper’s Maestro. In snaps posted on February 8, Gaga was seen wearing a black vest and suit pants with a white dress shirt as she leaned over the piano. She captioned a second post with "Tik tok tik tok" while listening to some tracks.
Lady Gaga shared a post on her Instagram account. In the photo, she captioned, "There’s a rat in the studio" on February 14. Some fans were curious if this meant a collaboration with Taylor Swift was in the works. Additionally, fans have been speculating about a possible sequel to Gaga and Beyoncé’s 2010 collaboration, “Telephone.”
When Beyoncé released “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages” during Super Bowl LVIII, fans noticed similarities between Bey’s teaser video and the end of the “Telephone” video. They also noticed that Gaga entered prison in the “Telephone” video on February 11, the same day that Beyoncé announced her new album.
Gaga’s last solo album was Chromatica, which included singles “Stupid Love,” “911,” and “Rain on Me,” her chart-topping collab with Ariana Grande. In 2021, Gaga released Love for Sale, her second and final collaborative album with Tony Bennett. Bennett died in 2023 at age 96 after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Later this year, Gaga will be starring as Harley Quinn in the sequel to Todd Phillips' Joker, called Joker: Folie à Deux. Joaquin Phoenix will be returning as the Clown Prince of Crime in this film, set to be released in theaters on October 4.
