Kenan Thompson brought along his two precious dates, his children, to the premiere of Good Burger 2. The 45-year-old Saturday Night Live star was seen attending the screening on Tuesday, November 14, accompanied by his daughters Georgia, 9, and Gianna, 5, who he shares with his estranged wife Christina Evangeline.
Thompson's co-star in the movie, Kel Mitchell, also attended the premiere along with his family. He arrived with his wife Asia Lee and their two children, their 6-year-old daughter Wisdom and their 3-year-old son Honor.
Wisdom eagerly embraced Thompson upon seeing him on the red carpet, exuding a contagious enthusiasm. Thompson reciprocated the excitement, particularly glad to reunite with Mitchell, who had recently endured a mysterious illness and hospitalization.
Despite his recent health setback, Mitchell radiated positivity at the premiere. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he shared, "Life throws unexpected challenges your way, but it's all about adaptation. I am confident and full of vitality. The journey continues."
Mitchell shared on Instagram earlier this month that while he was out shopping on November 7, he experienced a sudden numbness on the right side of his arm and leg, accompanied by difficulty swallowing.
He promptly sought medical attention at a nearby hospital where he spent the night. It was later determined that his medical emergency was the result of a bulging disc from a previous injury, which was exerting pressure on a nerve and causing the symptoms he had been experiencing. Mitchell received treatment and was subsequently discharged.
Mitchell expressed his gratitude to God for his improved condition in his post, saying, "I am thankful that I am doing well." He also thanked everyone for their prayers and comments.
Thompson, upon Mitchell's release from the hospital, shared his joy and relief. He uploaded a picture of both of them on the Good Burger 2 set on November 10, along with the caption, "I am glad that my brother is feeling better! Twice the mischief, twice the burgers, twice the enjoyment!"
The duo started their acting journey almost three decades ago during their teenage years. They gained fame by appearing in the Nickelodeon comedy sketch series All That, which aired from 1994 to 1999. Later, they starred in the spinoff series Kenan & Kel, which ran from 1996 to 2000.

Thompson and Mitchell both appeared in the original 1997 film Good Burger, which was based on one of Mitchell's sketches from All That. Thompson played the character Dexter Reed, a high school student who takes a job at the fast food restaurant Good Burger to cover the costs of the damages he caused to his teacher's car. Mitchell portrayed his friend and coworker, Ed.
Dexter and Ed meet again at their old workplace in the sequel. MegaCorp, a company, aims to replace the employees of Good Burger with robots. In order to ensure that their co-workers can retain their jobs, the duo makes it their mission to thwart this plan.
Good Burger 2 premieres on Paramount+ on Wednesday, November 22. On the following day, as reported by Variety, the two stars will ride in the Burgermobile from the movie during the 97th annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. This car, weighing over 5,000 pounds, showcases a burger-shaped hood and a bumper resembling french fries.
Thompson is having an extremely hectic week as he juggles his responsibilities on SNL and prepares for the release of yet another movie on Friday, November 17. He is part of a star-studded ensemble in the animated film Trolls Band Together, alongside renowned personalities such as Justin Timberlake, Amy Schumer, Anna Kendrick, Daveed Diggs, Joey Fatone, Kid Cudi, and many others.
