Ken Jennings recently expressed his surprise and fondness for his former co-host Mayim Bialik after her departure from "Jeopardy!" in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter published on Monday. "It took me off guard, because I loved working with Mayim and I'm gonna miss her," Jennings said.
He added, "I cannot comment on her decision-making process or her thoughts on the matter."
In a recent statement on Bialik's Instagram page, the actor and author mentioned that Sony, the show's producer, has notified her that she will no longer be hosting the syndicated version of Jeopardy!
"It is an immense honor to be nominated for a primetime Emmy as the host of Jeopardy! this year. I am sincerely thankful for the chance to be a part of the Jeopardy! family and I extend my gratitude to the viewers and the show's staff for being part of this amazing journey."
A representative from Sony stated to CNN that Jennings will be the only host of the show, as they aim to provide consistency for their audience.
The statement ended by expressing our sincere gratitude for Mayim's valuable contributions to Jeopardy!, and our desire to collaborate with her on future primetime specials.
Bialik and Jennings began co-hosting Jeopardy! in 2021 as temporary replacements for the late Alex Trebek, with producers later confirming them as the permanent hosts in July 2022.
Jennings, who originally served as a fill-in host before securing the position permanently, expressed his gratitude to THR, stating that he feels "incredibly fortunate to have been even considered for this role as a non-broadcaster."
