Katy Perry usually likes to keep her daughter Daisy Love Bloom away from public attention. However, on Mother's Day, which falls on Sunday, May 12, the singer, aged 39, couldn't help but share her excitement about her 3-year-old daughter on social media.
Perry shared a carousel of photos and videos on Instagram. The collection included a picture of her pregnancy test, her growing bump, the moment she told fiancé Orlando Bloom the news, a clip of a pregnancy ultrasound, and a video of her revealing the news to former American Idol co-judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.
In a Mother’s Day post, Perry expressed her feelings about motherhood. She told her mother that the day she realized her mother's love was the day she had her own daughter, Daisy Dove. Perry emphasized the importance of a mother's love and extended Mother’s Day wishes to all mothers and caregivers.
She also added captions to each of the images and the two clips.
Perry shared a series of moments on social media, including: 1. Showing the positive pregnancy test! 2. Sharing the news with Orlando while he was filming in Prague. 3. Announcing the pregnancy to her fellow judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie on the set of American Idol in Hawaii. 4. Listening to Daisy's heartbeat for the first time. 5-10: Some pictures of her growing bump from before Daisy Dove was born.

Katy Perry, known for her hit song "Firework," welcomed her daughter in August 2020. She shared the news through UNICEF, where Perry and her fiancé Orlando Bloom, 47, serve as Goodwill Ambassadors.
The couple, who got engaged on Valentine's Day in 2019, expressed their joy in a statement on UNICEF's website, saying, "We are filled with love and awe at the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter."
We consider ourselves fortunate to have had a peaceful birthing experience, knowing that not everyone is as lucky. It is disheartening to see that many communities worldwide still lack an adequate number of healthcare workers, leading to the tragic deaths of pregnant women and newborns every eleven seconds, often due to preventable causes. As new parents, we feel a deep sense of empathy towards those facing such challenges.
In November 2023, Perry marked the end of her Las Vegas residency show, titled "Play", by acknowledging her little girl in the audience with a special shout-out during her concert.
“Daisy! I love you so much,” Perry called out to her daughter, who was dressed as Minnie Mouse, per fan footage. “You’re my best friend. I’m so glad you’re here.”
