Katy Perry Finds Musical Inspiration in Daughter Daisy's Unwavering Love

Katy Perry shares how her music is influenced by the unconditional love of her 3-year-old daughter, Daisy. Discover how the bond between mother and daughter fuels Katy's creative process and inspires her latest works.

Katy Perry is absolutely in love with her 3-year-old daughter, Daisy. "What she has given me in my life is the unconditional love that I was always searching for," Perry shared in an interview with E! News. "Yes, that is where I am creating from. Just like wholeness, happiness, and true full love."

Perry, who welcomed Daisy with fiancé Orlando Bloom in August 2020, is currently focused on her music. (Bloom, 47, also shares son Flynn, 13, with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.)

The singer grabbed attention when she told Jimmy Kimmel in February that she was stepping away from her role as a judge on American Idol after seven seasons to follow her own rhythm.

Perry didn't reveal her future plans, teasing, "I'm not going on vacation after this, so stay prepared."

After becoming a mom, Perry has been praising her daughter. In November 2023, she ended her Las Vegas residency, Play, by performing with Daisy and giving her a special mention during the show.

Perry expressed her love for her daughter Daisy, who was dressed as Minnie Mouse, in a fan video. She referred to Daisy as her best friend and expressed her joy at having her there.

The singer shared that meeting her daughter made her feel like she had found all the love she had been searching for. Perry mentioned that Daisy made her feel complete, brought healing, and taught her how to have fun again. She dedicated her show to everyone's inner child, hoping that seeing life through a child's eyes would bring a sense of freedom.

During a podcast interview with Chelsea Handler in May 2022, Katy Perry discussed how her priorities have changed since becoming a mother.

In her own words, Perry shared that in her 20s, success was often tied to material possessions and ego. However, as she entered her 30s, she started to care less about those things and focused more on building inner confidence. Motherhood further shifted her perspective on success, now defined by her daughter Daisy's happiness. Perry finds joy in her daughter's well-being, realizing that many things she once thought were important were actually trivial. She no longer has time for unnecessary drama and prioritizes her family above all else.
