Katie Maloney clarified her private conversation with Lala Kent about Ariana Madix.
On Tuesday, May 14, Katie, 37, explained on Instagram Stories that she has always struggled with impostor syndrome. This is why she had doubts about opening the sandwich shop on her own. She felt hesitant but supportive towards Ariana, who was going through a tough time and receiving great opportunities. Katie was sensitive to Ariana's situation and stood by her during this important period.
Katie took to social media to share her thoughts after the first part of the Vanderpump Rules season 11 reunion. In the episode that aired on Tuesday, she had a heated confrontation with Lala about their strained relationship. Lala, who is 33 years old, accused Katie of saying that Ariana, who is 38, had "basically abandoned" her in relation to their upcoming sandwich shop called Something About Her. The shop is scheduled to open at the end of this month after facing several obstacles.
In her post, Katie explained that she was struggling with feelings of insecurity and didn't want to burden Ariana with her emotions. She felt it was best to keep her emotional response to herself and seek comfort in a safe space, even if it wasn't where she initially thought she would find it.
Katie waited for the right moment to share her feelings with Ariana. She mentioned that they have had many conversations since then.
Katie emphasized the importance of trust, loyalty, and integrity in her relationships.
Lala mentioned during Tuesday's episode that she and Katie had discussions about their feelings regarding Ariana's role in the sandwich shop after her success following her breakup with Tom Sandoval. (Tom Sandoval and Ariana ended their nine-year relationship after he cheated with VPR star Rachel "Raquel" Leviss.)
"I remember last year you mentioned that she was behind on rent for the sandwich shop," Lala told Katie, who denied the accusation. "I am confident in what I am saying."
Kate did feel a bit frustrated with Ariana, especially when it came to her Broadway role. Ariana played Roxie Hart in Chicago and will be doing it again in August.
Kate admitted, "I wish I had known about Ariana's Broadway job beforehand. It would have been nice to have a heads up. The problems I had were mostly due to my own insecurities."
